Hey guys I started playing marvel again on top of mk and street fighter and I’m looking for a new team that incorporates phoenix (Because I like her) not sentinel though. Any sugestions to try? lists would be nice.

you could try my phoenix team - Haggar Morgan Jean

works like a WoW Raid… Haggar is tank, Morgan assist builds meter, once you get 4.5 - 5 bars: tag in jean… do work till she dies, bring haggar back to tank again while morgan assist builds meter… when haggar dies do work with morgan… when morgan finally dies there shouldnt be more than 20 sec on the clock and now you have xf3 dark phoenix… ive found that this can be a very safe ans fast way to build a phoenix. now of course you must protect her and handle with care, but if done correctly you can have 5 bars within 15 ticks off the game clock. if you get snapped back you gotta be good enough with jean to use her safely and tag her back out.

if you are really good with jean (nick1time) you could just beast with jean and keep you opponent thinking that youre about to tag out

lately if i win with this team its in the second haggar or the morgan phase. most people freak out about dark phoenix n whatever
real secret is i’ll ocv you with haggar while you think im building a threat named phoenix. usually i try not make jean attempt to control it.

DO NOT DO NOT tag in pheonix and then tag dark pheonix out. That means she can be chipped and killed without ever getting a chance to use xfactor. Bad strategy and you make it 100x easier for me to defeat Dark Pheonix by allowing her to come in and get chipped out by most of the cast.

I’m thinking about holding a saturday hookup for those not going to Chicago, but I’m certain John will be taking his setups with him. If we want to make this happen, people would have to bring setups. There are TVs downstairs, but I’d prefer people bring monitors for the loft. If we did end up on downstairs TVs, we’d have to keep real quiet, and I will be a complete dick about keeping it that way. Don’t want to be evicted :wink:

I was going to post this up in the tournament thread but it really wasnt on topic there so I will post it here:

Don’t get the big fish, small pond syndrome MGF. Being the best in KC honestly doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. KC hasn’t really been a force in a game outside of local tournaments for a long time. In all honesty I think while we have more players and a wider variety of games now, KC left a bigger footprint when it was 5 of us traveling. Maybe Chicago and EVO can change that opinion, but back in the day there was always a chance of 2 KC players being in top 10 of any tournament we went to, I can’t say I really feel the same about that now.

I feel like KC is turning into “Jack of all trades, master of none”. We have spread too thin to make accommodations for different players/styles/game preferences. I think there is a real good chance I drop all but a single game and put time into that very soon.

Phantom - A solid Phoenix team needs a few prereqs. You need characters that don’t need a ton of meter to be good or to do damage. Also, pick two characters that work well as a team since you’ll want to call Jean as an assist like 0 percent of the time outside of combos. If these characters fight well solo, it’s also a big plus. Think Wesker, Mags, Wolvie, Task, She-hulk, Dante, Felicia on point. 2nd slot should go to a solid assist that can either play good D or fight solo. Shuma, Doom, Akuma, Wesker, Tron, Ammy, Haggar, Sent.

That’s just a guideline. Get creative, play characters you like, and work hard on really learning Jean. She so strong in xf3 dph mode that its easy to use her as a crutch, but really she has so much amazing stuff that’s way underutilized. It makes me sad that Clockwork stopped playing her.
