Honestly, I’d be happy with the 18th or just flat out skipping a February tournament. I can’t afford to take off of work too much, so I’ll just show up to MO late and join in any tournaments that start late enough for me to join regardless of the date. However, with the announcement of Screenland Showdown being in the works for May, I’d like to start getting as much footage as possible for my documentary so I’ll be dropping out of serious competition in favor of recording.
If at least 8 people are going to OK, I’d like to tag along with someone so I can get footage down there. I’d also like to discuss some details about the documentary with some of you soon so be on the lookout for that.
Alright, since I don’t want to conflict with the OK tournament, or FR, I’ll go ahead and plan on scheduling the next MAXOUT for the 11th of March. I’ll try and get confirmation up within the next few days, but it shouldn’t be an issue.
This coming MAXOUT will feature : (In the interest of saving time, All tournaments will require at least 6 participants, or we won’t even bother running it. If a tournament receives less than 6 participants for a few months running, we will omit it from the lineup. Mortal Kombat, BBCS, MB, 3S, AH etc. have frequently received less than 6 players. )

There will be Street Fighter X Tekken on exhibition. The game will only have been released for 5 days when this tournament happens, and that’s not enough time to host a tournament. I will however designate a casuals and hype match station for the game at the event.
Also, for Budd Park 3, I am conflicted on what game I want it to feature. I would personally prefer to go back to SF, but we could do a double header… now wouldn’t THAT be pretty crazy.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I could feature a non big two as a BP tournament here in KC, because there’s just too few serious players for other games. Each game other than SF/Marvel seems to have about 4-5 serious heads a piece, at most. Unless I’m proven otherwise at local tournaments, I won’t even try to feature another title in the BP series.
Its been a long time since the Last Budd Park tournament…that’s when I first started playing, I think. I’d be down for this one. I assume the big two games are Street Fighter and Marvel?
Also have you thought about a 2v2 SFxT exhibition? The game supports it MK9 style. You would have to get USB extenders for PS3s that only have two ports, but they are really cheap on Amazon.
SF would be nice as far as other tournaments I only expect kof to get bigger and bigger, more people are playing it and enjoying it. You have at least 4 BBCSEX in most cases being ryan, me, blarg, prodigital. I would gladly take part in the SFxT exhibition which is a great idea.
This would be my first BP I would be able to be in so It would be interesting experience (I like sets)
**To gauge interest : I’m seriously wanting to get a new Budd Park tournament cracking soon. I’d like people to post up here if they would like to see SF, or Marvel.
My vote is for SF, since it’s been a long time, and the last BP was SSF4. It wasn’t even AE.
For those of you unfamiliar with BP, it is a high stakes tournament ($20 buy in) where players play a standard double elimination format, only matches are FT10, instead of FT2/3. Seeding is done by past tournament consistency, just like MAXOUT. BP is grueling. It will test your ability to adapt over a long set, and push you to stay consistent. It is also a great way to practice your matchups pre match, and post match.
Keep in mind, if you vote for a game, you should be willing to enter it.
Since BP is done over the course of a whole month, this tournament is only open to local players.**
We’ve done one tournament for it at Maxout, and unfortunately, the turnout was awful. The game was supposed to be in full swing, and including me (who had played the game once up to that point) there were 10 entries. If KOF is going to survive at Maxout, I think we’ll have to drop the entry. People like playing in multiple tournaments, and other than the die hard players, no one is going to enter a 10 dollar game that doesn’t have “SF” or “Marvel” in the title. Sorry man.

Wow that’s bad. The game hasn’t even been out for 6 months and it is already getting a major update. Hopefully namcunt will nerf juggle/wall damage and hell I’d be down for a combo breaker lol
That is an unknown sir… OK only has 2 or 3 BB players lol. ARK, who is coming, normally has a few and if Dallas joins like last year they bring many. However this is the same weekend as Bar Fights in TX so that may not happen.
Hey guys, if you are going to the OKgamers tourney event in Tulsa on the 25th, please go ahead and pre-register. The want an estimate so they can order shirts with the appropriate sizes. Also, who all is going and is playing Marvel? Arkansas wants to 5v5 Oklahoma in Marvel, but right now no one is stepping up on the Oklahoma side. Maybe we can get a couple of you guys to band with Wichita and get a 5v5 Marvel team for Kansas?
