Also small questioned but I’ve combed through the forums pretty solidly i believe and i cant find other peoples custom sketches and code etc… they are usually broken links or down or just MIA.
Did anyone ever get around to actually archiving them to a site or at least putting together a collection of say kickass codes/sketches that actually work legit?
The way you can do it is:
Simplest way: remove the leds from the buttons but do not disconnect them from the kaimana, press the buttons and see which led lights up, then stick the led that lit up in the button you pressed.
Longer way with code
1- take the code for the order that is already there and copy it, paste that new copy below the current code and comment out the old code with double slash.
This is code
//This is commented code
Now if you see in the kaimana_custom.h file the LEDs have numbered indexes that indicate the position they are in
// KAIMANA->LED_K3->LED_K2->LED_K1->LED-P1->LED_P2->LED-P3->LED_JOY->LED_HOME->LED_SELECT->LED_START
These numbers correspond to the position of the LED from the Kaimana. So K3 in index 0 is the LED that is connected to the Kaimana first. You can switch the numbers to match your layout but the simplest way is simplest Feel free to poke and break the code, best way to learn IMHO.
This is the reason why I uploaded the code into my github account after forking the main Kaimana repository. I feel there is a dilemma of sharing code since one spends so much time and effort coding. For example I uploaded mine since it was an incremental upgrade (I only changed the code to work with a 6btn layout). Other people may spend a long time coding a large chunk of functionality and it is harder to part with it and share it (I mean it DID take you a lot of time and effort to get it working, why should anybody else have it easy?).
I will continue to contribute when I get an Idea for an animation or functionality, I encourage you and everyone else here to learn how Git works and create a github account so we can continue sharing under the master Kaimana branch. I wanted to have a hangout where we can discuss the Kaimana and see what we can do but i’ve had a few rough weeks and just barely finished everything I had. Anyone else up for it?
Kaimana Khameleon Production Boards arrived ready for assembly. Get them at EVO from Paradise Arcade Shop
@T0nY_T0uCHeD_1T
I did it on a 360 Atrox, but I’m not sure how useful that would be since I don’t know how similar the Xbox One and 360s versions are.
@LastGaro
From the error it seems like it couldn’t find the ‘animations.h’ file. You need all the files referenced in the .ino file in the same directory as the .ino file, I don’t use that particular sketch but I have 6 items in total. If you do have that then I have no clue.Edit: sorry, lag
Hell Yeah!! I’m down. Also deep thanks and mad props to all the cats postin info and sharin wisdom for us hungry enough to learn n delve in. And on that note ive started coding up some things makin n breakin as i move along. I was hoping someone could help me figure out a fade and possible pulse effect. And some sort of cut off mode for when I’m at tourneys and people get pissy or say the lights are distracting.
Also I give you guys my word I’ll be posting up all my code at some point for any and all who want em to help peeps out and actually push this shit forward.
Yo Jasen, you still makin those dope metal sticks? Cause if you could make me one with a clear screw in top plexi and kick me a template for art I’m 100% down to buy!! I recently found out your sticks are metal fabs
and i build customs aswell but due to costs and workin outta my clost lmao i can only use woods and plexis etc… id love a dope metal case bro.
Jasen’s shop is on hiatus until September. Bright side is he has some very amazing things in motion for the return, so be ready for it.
Hey man, it’s can only good for the community when we contribute towards these kinds of projects, I was planning to start a hangout on Friday to start working on learning the animations and getting something done. I’ll post it around when i start it.
Jasen’s sticks are brutal. He is about to release a new version in September and while not plexi, the design is beast.
Damn!! that’s dope I’m stoked to see what hes been up to. However i need that plexi on deck so i can easy art swap and kick off new themes repairs n such. I cant print onto the metal and i don’t wanna have to screw with stickers, vinyl, or various layovers n adhesive art when tryin to kick off badass art n such. A top plexi with screw ins is always easy both to achieve and in function and use. Plus if damaged or tore up can always be replaced even locally so in most cases.
We have most of the code versions, I will work on reposting. We will also be allowing people to download from the store in the future giving people who submit their code for download perks for x number of downloads. Cost of the downloads is free, just a way to give back to the people who do put in work on these.
So I keep hearing about being able to program the LVT3 board, but the software only allows for simple color selection and positioning, and idle animations. Is there something I’m missing and do I need programming knowledge to get full potential out of it
^This, thanks for the support!
Doing one like this would be expensive being a one off, all of my sticks are priced based on building over 50 of them. I did a widebody Panzer with Plexi and it wasn’t cost effective nor very popular.
Sorry for going off topic Bryan
@LordGlyph the current version has the preset programming flashed to it. You can reload it as an Arduino controller but then you lose the ability to use the GUI. If there is enough interest I can post a tutorial on how to convert it back to a programmable board.
Anyone here know anyone makin simple wooden cases with dual plexis whos still in the game? My boys lookin to buy but I’ve got my hands full on builds right now. And the only cats i know who are still in the game are Anomaly & them Badasses at foehammer.
All he wants is a decent wooden case simple specs and top n bottom plexis for art no crazy rare woods or fancy shit just sanded up tight n right and ready for paint etc… he can even provide a template to work from that i designed back in the day layout n all.
Thanks Jasen! Can you pm a price for the one off if its possible?
Also apologies for poppin off topic aswell Brian my bad. I just saw him here so i jumped on the opportunity lol
So is the new Khameleon retiring the Kaimana. Will that become the new standard moving forward? Or is it a one shot development deal for EVO etc… limited run kinda thing? I’m thinkin about copin one.
No. It’s not retiring the Kaimana.
The KK is an alternative to the OG Kaimana. It includes some features not found in the OGK and is compatible with everything developed for it also.
Very good Bryan. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something, that’s all.
