Updated Kaimana demo code supporting the Arduino 1.6.3 environment is now available on GitHub.
The compiler has changed a lot since the 1.0.x days when the first Kaimana code saw it’s first public release. In fact, the original Kaimana code was developed with the 0.x compiler and ported to 1.0 before the product was launched. The updates incorporate similar changes to those outlined by @JRDIBBS as well as a number of recommended “improvements” for pgmspace support.
Just starting my design now. I have an older first edition Madcatz TE fight stick. I was wondering if it should be possible to use this board to mode the stick with LEDs and leave the turbo functions in tact. From the diagrams it looks like its just a pass through controller and the main problem is supplying power. Has anyone posted a similar mod or do most people gut the stick and put in a Cathulu or P360+ in.
As I’m more interested in getting more experience in learning to wire things and how to code the Arduino board, than how my wiring actually looks on the inside, not to mention it’d be nice to save a pretty substantial amount of money if it works, are you able to just use plain Jane RGB LED’s daisy chained together or wired up separately for one of these, or do you have to use the specific Kaimana J’s that PAS sells?
Edit: I’m dumb and didn’t read enough ahead of time, I know now that I’d need “smart” led’s like the WS2812’s or WS2811’s, but would using the latter with a regular RGB led work? Basically so I could use a hollowed stick shaft but not need to buy the specific RGB stick.
Edit again: SUPER DUMB. Two seconds of googling turned up this which totally avoids my problem of even needing to use a WS2811 driver.
Hey guys, So I’m wondering if there has been any update regarding using the LVT3 with the TE2 Crossbone. I remember when I picked this up at EVO last year, I was told to wait because there was some kind of code issue? Has this been resolved? It’s just been sitting on my desk collecting dust.
I remember grabbing the board last year at evo but there was, if I remember this correctly, a communication error between the crossbone and lvt3 since I am (hoping) it will work with both the crossbone (ps360 amd maybe ps4) and xbox 1
@armi0024 Any word on when these will be back in stock? And I haven’t noticed if you posted if you ever completed that “tournament mode” thing where holding buttons could turn the lights off. I’d need that feature (for health reasons surprisingly) before I could buy one.
Hey i am developing a PCB that will enable us to connect the PS360 and the Kaimana through the 20 pin adapter. This implies that the Kaimana is ordered using the .100 pin headers instead of the regular screw terminals. @armi0024 do you think there would be an interest in this?
It’s done I have 6 prototypes being built right now that correct two minor issues and add one bit of functionality. I expect these to be the final design.
Are they replacing the original boards entirely? I can’t imagine they cost much more to produce, and that would explain why they’ve been sold out for a while
