Thanks! I can definitely chain all the grounds no problem, though I am curious about the 5v.
Where would I need to tap to draw the 5v from on this stick. Once I have the 5v soldered to vcc, do I still need to run a cable from that vcc to the vdc in the bottom, like I have in the diagram above?
Tap 5v from the VCC line going from your PCB to the USB Cable (Red Wire). Run that to the vcc terminal on the kaimana, and keep the wire from vcc to the chain on the board.
Okay guys, itās late, km tired and kind of frustrated. After some wrestling I was able to get my kaimana led and board installed. I connected it to my pc and also on my X box. All the buttons work as far as the commands, though only the 4 kick button lights up, but only when I press the 1 punch button. Any ideas what I did wrong? Just to be clear, i assumed the board has a base coding it comes with, so i didnāt upload any code to it, so maybe thatās the issue? Iām tired, itās bed time. Hope someone can help me
OK so I think I figured it out. Turns out I needed to mess with the code and change the button configuration, so i can get the buttons to light up and run the ādemoā mode it comes with. Iād like to know if someone can help me with a simple code to make all the buttons white when idle and pressed, donāt need any fancy animations or anything. Hopefully someone can help with this
Finally i got my kaimana! thanks to susan and brian, and nice chocolate too.
I already uploaded the first example from the first page of this post and works fine but only with the usb connected.
I also have powered the kaimana using the +5vcc pin from my joystick controller (xin mo dual player) but nothing happened.
The kaimanaās led brights very low, when i connect the usb to the kaimana leds brights very high and the chain of leds connected works ok.
Can i use the usb to permanently power the kaimana? Should kaimana works only with +5vcc from xin mo?
I might be able to help some people with basic kaimana coding. PM and Iāll see if i can help at all.
@pcornejoā Itās possible the Xin Mo is not getting enough power to the Kaimana, or you have the VCC line connected incorrectly. I can upload a picture of the way mine looks, if it will help.
hello everyone. so I recently built a hitbox arcade stick using a tek-innovations box and the kaimana led system. of course the kaimana comes programmed for a joystick. so after many tedious hours of research and coding I finally have a sketch I would like to upload. I would like to thank @wahoo747ā for tje code he developed as I used it as a refernece several time. so my sketch works on hitbox, I changed up the startup animation, idle animation as well as its delay. I used the 8 random colors from @wahoo747 's code for a better spectrum of colors. I also added in umvc3 animations for x-factor, quarter circle and dragon punch hyper combo animations. I hope someone will find it useful.
I do have one concern about the sketch that I would like help on. I play as zero and vergil in mvc and use their charge moves. I have realized that while holding down a button and using a hyper combo, the animation doesnāt trigger since the button being held goes into the combo pattern. @wahoo747 's code utilizes a long press boolean, but only works for triggering an animation. I was hoping.someone.could help me program it to where a long button press is discounted from the history so that it wouldnāt interfere with combo patterns.
and lastly here is the link for my hitbox kaimana sketch:
Thanks @ogrebites but i think that i have connected the power wires ok, i checked that im getting 5v from xin-mo, so i dont understand why is not working.
Finally im using an external power directly to the usb connector, and seems everything goes ok.
Thatās true video might be nice. Hereās the link:
I hope everyone likes it!
Oh and @armi0024ā, I was thinking it would be nice to have a page either on paradisearcade or the kaimana wiki that would have various sketches for dl. I know I had a hard time finding the links through this forum.
Oh and my email is traceofalltrades@gmail if anyone needs it.
Thanks @DJYin ! Well I figure if I do sell it I can always tweak it how the buyer wants. And since while playing you wonāt really be watching the box a whole lot, the animation should be pretty flashy and noticable. Of, course Iām always open to improving the code.
Anyone have any ideas for my above post to discount a held button from the combo pattern?
Hey Armi, I have a question. So I have the new HBFS buttons which are 24 mm. Which LEDs would I buy for it to be compatible for the Kaimana? From what Iāve read, I would be using the 24 mm Peles as the Kaimana Js wont fit? I also have 1 30 mm HBFS, would the 30 mm Pele fit?
And if Im taking the Pele route, can you indicate all the other required parts (such as adaptors and harnesses) for Kaimana compatibility?
Essentially, if you can format it like this:
For 1 HBFS 24mm button, I would need # adaptors and # harnesses.
I was going to ask a similar question since Iām looking at the 30 mm HBFS for my buttons in the near future! After some research the Kaimana seems to be the best choice for me! If the kaimana Js donāt work with the gamerfinger, what all would I need to set up:
with pele LEDs? The site bundle doesnāt offer a pele LED package and Iām having trouble grokking all the parts Iād need for this project to work sans soddering (because I am a complete newb)
Second question:
I use my fightstick primarily on my PC. How much of an issue will a PC USB power supply be to fuel the Kaimana and are there ways around it if it is an issue?
Lastly:
Has anyone wired one of these to a qanba q4raf? If so, could I beg an insight on how you wired it?
Edit: Shoutout to Pnoy Pryde for pointing me towards this board setup.
Double Edit!: This project might be a few months from now and I see a V2 might be on the way? How likely is it that the new board would be out and Iāll have to change all my harness/led calculations by the time I decide to pull the trigger on this?
