O man, u know im not a guilty gear player. The first time i played i was trying to do fireball traps. Me and Brian should call u up next time im down. We actually like Third Strike now.
If you guys are into 3s, we should set something up. We have about 3 people up here who play 3s, the rest play whatever. cvs2 we’ve been playing alot of lately. So If you guys ever wanted to game in Waco, your welcome anytime.
Waco is a far far place from where I am unfortunately. Dunno if Brian or Sean will actually take up that offer since its quite a drive for even them to just play games.
Actually, I wouldn’t mind driving up to Waco to play some 3s/cvs2 (Or ST :bgrin:) Everyone else in Killeen is pretty much done, unless Sean wanted to come with me (Or even Chris whenever he visits randomly.) Although thats about an hour drive from here, so if you do wanna set something up let me know a little in advance so I can basically spend maybe half a day or something down there to make it worth while.
Sounds like a significant amount of the Killeen comp went to San Antonio. Is there any competition there? Not that I’ll be headed there anytime soon–I barely get home to Houston…speaking of which, I’m not sure where Houston comp is now that the Stargate is no more.
Is the warehouse Stargate gone too?
San Antonio competition is alright. But its not elite or anything. (MAYBE Cvs2 just cuz of LG, Oscar, and I) Thats stretching it tho, HAHA.
CvS2 - Around last evo I was tooling everyone in San Antonio, but everyone got better and improved. But there are really only 5 of us: me, legendary gokou, oscar, skip, and juan…but i guess 5 people counts as a CvS2 ‘hotspot’. Me and Oscar usually do well in tourneys tho!
3s - Its decent, might even see some austin people once in awhile.
ST - Sucks. Retired Eddie is probably still the best in SA.
Tekken - A couple of peeps still play, but alot of them quit after getting tooled in some Dallas tourney i think.
Guilty Gear - Seen people play.
Marvel - Ive seen some people that know what they are doing
There is one guy that plays games no one gives a shit about like Vampire Savior, Virtua Fighter, and so on.
Overall, if everyone in town gets together in a place with multiple TVs, its fun.

I have no idea. I barely even knew about it. Ya know, I’ve really been out of the game scene since I left for Iraq in 2003. I played exactly one time while there, and really haven’t picked it up since.
When I came back, I didn’t let any grass grow under my feet in Killeen. I was eager to get off for some more training to keep my forward momentum. It worked. I’ve been incredibly busy for the past 2 1/2 years, and there was no comp that I could discern in upstate New York anyway.
In the two or three times I checked Shoryuken in as many years, I do remember seeing that the Stargate closed, but then people were talking about it opening once every blue moon in some remote location. Never been there though. Did you ever go?
I told myself that I was going down to Houston this week, but it doesn’t look like its going to happen. I get too wrapped up in writing code. I am one of those weird people who gets obsessed when I program. I’m enjoying Texas A&M in spite of my geekiness. Where are you going to school??? I love San Antonio, but there ain’t much in the way of colleges there.
I’m trying to remember names from when I was in Killeen, but some of the names are escaping me. The name Herman popped into my head, but he wasn’t as into it as some of us were.

There’s plenty of schools in San Antonio! My ex goes to Trinity Universtiy. I go to school at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Hopefully, soon ill be entering dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Programming huh? Thats hardcore, lol. I can’t stand that stuff. Especially the machine language BS.
As for Stargate, yeah its gone. But every once in awhile it opens up in this lil’ warehouse area. But the last time i was there was in 2005, but my friend still played there last year…but i dont know about now.
Dang…Herman? I think he like…vanished from a tournament one time and then no one ever heard from him again lol. I don’t really know, probably better to ask Carlos about some of the older Killeen people since he’s now officially the OG of Killeen Streetfighter (Ew) since Phil/Aric/everyone else retired, until Jeff comes back I guess.

Yeah I’m still in Cove :tdown:. Do the rest of the Killeen people only play GG besides that one guy? That’s no good, I really don’t want to get back into Guilty Gear lol.

Huh? Whaddya mean? You’re Chris, right? We used to play MvC2 together. I’m John. I was only in Killeen from 2002-2004, but that last year was pretty much all in Iraq.
Unless I’m confusing you with somebody else. That was the problem–too many Chrises. But only one of them was Pinoy…I think. The guy who actually started this thread was from Hawaii…but I digress.
I’m thinking you are the guy who lived year the mall. If that’s the case you gotta remember the guy I’m talking about who played Hulk, even if you can’t remember his name–heck, I can’t. I remembered something else about him, he was heavy set, he had kind of a moustache, he was light-skinned black, and he had a white girlfriend/wife, who every now and then would come in pushing a baby carriage.
As for the scrubs part, we were all pretty much scrubs. I’m probably lower than a scrub now–I think the CPU could probably beat me in MvC2. I haven’t played any games since I left Killeen.

Umm no, there were many other Chris’s before me. I’ve really only played with Jeff, Phil, Brian, Carlos, and newer people. Im not as old school as you guys when it comes to playing using real tactics. Back then I was probably only playing lvl 8 computer on SNES.
Just stopping by to see who all from K-town still posts and if there were anything new developing in the gaming scene (yeah, right) Maybe sometime this fall I’ll actually make it back home to visit my mom and friends and of course to play some street fighter. Does the arcade in the mall still exists? What about the place that use to be peter piper’s pizza/pistol pete’s pizza/…even chucky cheese?, is that place anything now?
