K.O.W. King of Wolves

Mester

- how long have you been playing 3rd strike?

???
although i went to there almost everyday, i didn’t spend much money on coins.
2nd Impact’s experience and NECRO helped a lot.

six months after 3S’s release, CHUN-LI and YANG became my main characters.
still, it didn’t occur to me that CHUN-LI would be so powerful.
in my opinion, if her cr.MK confirmation were to be found earlier,
the game developer would have revised her??

- why/how’d you start 3rd strike?

proceeded from 2nd Impact.
from the tournaments held by myself, to GCN and ranking battles,
i gradually found myself lost in it.

- what is your home-arcade and who is your sparring partner/person you play often?

i used to play in ??? owned by Shimura, but recently??
the arcade i go most should be World in Shinjuku.

- which player influences/inspires you?

i have always wanted my own way of playing 3S to be standard,
so other players had little influence on me.
???(?) were strong, but i don’t want to play like him,
since he focused only on opponents’ movestuns and flaws.

- what players do you look forward to seeing in tournament?

my only rival of destiny in SFIII, Xiao.
besides, i want to see what levels those were-nameless have reached.

- last comment?

as the host, out team is directly qualified.
but i want to show everyone the achievement of my ten years’ 3S life.
specifically, it is the dream combo that would make Rikimaru smashing cabinet,
Matsuda giving up o(^-^)o.

KSK

- how long have you been playing 3rd strike?

10 years, since its release.
as for SFIII, i have played the series since New Generation’s release.
i have taken part in ??? cup.

- why/how’d you start 3rd strike?

to be honest, i thought New Generation was quite boring, and quited playing it several times.
when 2nd Impact was released, i tried to play, but couldn’t get used to it.
when 3S was released, top tiers like CHUN-LI didn’t apply to me at all.
at that time, CVS2 was so terrific for me that i totally gave up playing 3S.
later, Rolling Cancel was discovered, thus i lost the passion for CVS2, and moved back to 3S.
if there were no Rolling Cancel, i would have been playing CVS2, without caring about 3S.
there might be no Gamer’s Vision as well.

after taking part in ranking battles like ??? and ???, i began to love 3S gradually.
i chose ALEX as main character because i thought he was strong.
of course it’s wrong, but i have enjoyed using him.
nevertheless, it feels really good to beat top tiers with bottom tiers.
i made friends with many people through 3S. it’s really joyful to play 3S for so many years.

- what is your home-arcade and who is your sparring partner/person you play often?

Vision, Versus, NEWTON
although i don’t play much recently, i won’t miss any tournament.
the dan battle of Versus is quite interesting.
Vision’s ranking battle will restart in December. there will be live broadcast, too.

- which player influences/inspires you?

Mester
i was shocked by the way he played when 2nd Impact just came out. that feeling passed on to 3S.
i thought i would never lose to anyone, but still got raped by him in G-model tounament.
at that moment, i cried with joy.(^_^)

Kokujin
at first, i thought he is only good in ??.
later, i realized how important ?? and gambing is in 3S, from him.
(?? means to do a SA or shoryuken directly, often regardless of the consequence)
he’s the only guy who can do skills like “jump-in ex uppercut” at that time.
strangely enough, he’s not good in basics. for example, he misses SA in 1P side from time to time.
but after all, i think he’s really strong and trustable in 3S.

K.O.
i thought i could never beat him.
he’s so good at pre-reading that i can hardly do any movment.
K.O. vs Daigo at EVO was the most heated match in the history of 3S.

Nuki
godlike. i nearly gave up strategy against CHUN-LI because of his existence.
he’s NO.1 all-around FTG player in the world.
he can reach top level in any FTG, as far as the right character is picked up.

- what player do you look forward to watching in tournaments?

it should be Genki.
it’s very wonderful for him to obtain 10 dan in the dan battle of Versus.
as a ALEX player, i want to be as vigorous as he is now.

- any last comments?

being the host of this conference, i will spare no effort in the live broadcast job.
i will also do my best in GODSGARDEN. cheer for me, please!
as for the result, wining and losing in Japan are both natural.
i’m counting on Mester to defeat all rivals.

Wout thanks Bergkamp for so long ive been waiting for some
short interview or info about RX
BTW what do you guys think about RX`s footage?
I mean, why he always team up with Roshihikari & Sugiyama?
What im trying to say is that he should have bigger posibilities of wining
important tournaments if he team up with strongest players.
Not meaning Roshihikari & Sugiyama are weak
i respect bouth, and think they are greate but team needs some other strongest character.

omg and a live stream as well!!!

just imagine the amount of casuals thatll take place afterwards :wow:

some of the best 3s vids i have ever seen! good find guys

YEEAAAAHH!!! HAHAHAHA!! This post has made me very happy.

Thank you all so much for the translation.

PinoAB7

- how long have you been playing 3rd strike?

from its release day.
i used to play by my own, since there were little people playing 3S in my local place.
i used to enjoy arcade matches more than versus matches,
just like putting the cart before the horse.
being addicted to MSF ranking, i spent one year in the ?Healing MSF? strategy.
that?s precious memory to me.

- why/how’d you start 3rd strike?

i gave up New Generation because it?s boring.
one day, my friend got a art book of SFIII.
?i guess you might like this charater?, he said.
when i took a look at that character, he had:
ugly face and sharp nose,
sunny tattoos and snowy skin,
naked limbs wearing bib pants,
strange shoes on the left and right.
long arms, long legs and a big skin head.

that character reminded me of DALSIM.
?i would never like this kind of character?, i thought.
but one month later, when i saw the character in the game,
i was shocked by the little red loli along with him.
that was the moment i fell in love with NECRO.
luckily, i didn?t shave my hair or bleach my skin immediately to show my royalty.

? is my ultimate motive power?

- what is your home-arcade and who is your sparring partner/person you play often?

i can hardly meet any worthy opponents in my local place,
so i would rather travel around Japan.
in my opinion, the whole Japan is my home-arcade.
by the way, i plan to take part in the Kyusyu conference to be held on 22nd,
then come back to KOW conference by first plane.
these days, i always play with Mimora and Kazuya when travelling to ???.

- which player influences/inspires you?

i like those who have unique play styles, they include:

Messatsu Yarou?s URIEN, who kept doing crazy shits continuously for 15 minutes.
those combos can?t be seen even in the training mode.
Thanatos?s ORO, who won the upper seat of a big conference with ORO’s SAI.
Meta?s CHUN-LI, who was strong and unique, but would also enjoy being raped by other players.
Daigo?s RYU, who teamed up with me at the first big conference since 3S was released.
we obtained the championship. i haven?t seen him using RYU in 3S since then.
???s REMY, who can do charge moves like moving a chess.

- what players do you look forward to seeing in tournament?

i am looking forward to Mimora and Y(?) ?s performance in the last chance qualification.
as for those qualified team, i will support Kokujin?s team.
what, Kokujin won?t come?
in that case, i will cheer for our team in stead.

ok, seriously.
i don?t want to lose in the mirror match against Sugiyama.
on the other side, Sugiyama can?t lose until he meets me!

- last comment?

it seems i have talked too much in such a casual interview.
to be honest, i don?t know exactly why i am picked up.
nevertheless, i am happy that so many people can support me.
i?ll do my best at this conference. that?s all.

Thanatos

- how long have you been playing 3rd strike?

i have been playing ORO since New Generation was released.(!)
i have been enjoying those joyful 3S matches for ten years.

- why/how’d you start 3rd strike?

i am a big fan of Megaman, thus i always take fancy to Capcom?s games.
i have played SFII and SFZ before.
later, SFIII came out, and Parrying system caught my eyes.
for me, it was definitely a revolutionary excellent system for FTG.
in order to do the stylish multi parrying, i practiced crazily hard.
even now, this habit hasn?t changed much.
if only there were a parrying conference! (parrying mania)
for me, the only flaw of 3S is: GILL?s Seraphic Wing can?t be fully parried.
i am still unsatisfied with this setting after ten years!
**

  • what is your home-arcade and who is your sparring partner/person you play often?**

??? used to beat me a lot in Nishikasai?s MOM.
after its closure, i mainly played at arcade Hey.
there, Dirty?s URIEN and Matsuken?s KEN beat me a lot.
recently, i am playing secretly in Nishikasai?s Cadillac.
in despite of lacking high level players, that arcade has superb joysticks.
i will be really happy to use well-preserved cabinet at this conference.

- which player influences/inspires you?

Shimura Ken
Matsuda said he really wants 3S to be popular,
during a ranking battle in Game Newton Shimura Store.
his love and efforts contributed much to the prosperity of 3S.

Kokujin
back when i was living in Nara, i made an expedition to Gifu?s Alibaba together with him.
there, i had my first experience of ?commentary? and ?provocation?.
Kokujin is really funny and interesting.
it’s really hard to see someone so engaged in and fond of the match.
since then, i started my ?commentary? career as Kokujin?s student.

KSK
he?s my most expected rival in Vision. we have encountered only once in a best8 match.
at this conference, i can battle with him. our match will even be recorded.
it?s just like a dream come true. i am looking forward to seeing him.

- what player do you look forward to watching in tournaments?

??? and ???
in the year when 3S was released, we three took part in a big conference,
which was held at ???s Capcom Plaza.
it will be really touchy to meet them again at this conference after ten years.

- any last comments?

ORO seems to have the least popularity in the game, even worse than SEAN.(?)
those who think he?s weak are lead by the illusion that playing ORO is dull and boring.
actually, ORO might be the most creative character in 3S.
ORO can be played with free style and flashy combos.
at this ten-year-anniversary conference, i will show everyone the real charm of ORO.
besides, my long-sealed ?commentary? will also restart in its complete form.

Wow, the interviews are mad interesting

thanks man

HAHA, he might be joking but man this is Japanese male we are talking about.

That kanji is moe. Oh Pino, he’s doing it for the lolis.

wow thanatos has been playing with oro since new generation. oro was so boring in those games but thanatos is a true oro lover. i’m glad he’s stuck with the character for so long. shame how he’s not more popular.

^^
I double that.

I third that! Oro is my favorite character (along with Necro) and the things that Thanatos said about him and his passion for Oro put the biggest smile on my face. Incredible god players like Thanatos and their passion for 3S makes me so proud to be a huge fan of the game (and its top players). and because of players like him, Pino, Kuroda, Dirty Music, KSK, etc, these lower tiered and under-appreciated characters are put into the spot light and are noticed.

KSK is the fucking man, I doubt 3S would still be rocking as hard if the japanese scene didn’t have him around

Is there any way to save these uStream recordings to the computer besides going full screen and running Fraps or something?I’d definitely like to check this tourney out but I don’t have 7 straight hours of computer time XD If I can save them I can convert to MP4 and watch on TV through my 360

Yeah those are cool ass interviews

Sugiyama

- how long have you been playing 3rd strike?

about 10 years.

- why/how’d you start 3rd strike?

i thought everyone would participate in the game,
since it was Capcom’s new fighting game.

- what is your home-arcade and who is your sparring partner/person you play often?

Newton?? and Newton??. i always fight with Jiro, Guest1, ??? and Togawa.

- which player influences/inspires you?

Smith Skills (?)
if i hadn’t watched those combo videos, i wouldn’t have started playing 3rd Strike.
also, i began practicing NECRO’s stun combos from copying those Smith Skills videos.

OFC
i lost a lot to his powerful Akuma in the local place.
although he kept saying Match is stronger,
he was already godlike to me in comparison with the never-heard-of Match.

Nitto
at the West Sports National Conference,
he gained 50 straight wins against all those top players.
it was so shocking that i thought we were not in the same space. (^_^)

- what players do you look forward to seeing in tournament?

all those who take part, except YSB. i am almost bored with watching him playing.

- last comment?

besides those YUN matches, i hope my matches will catch the most attention.

YSB

- how long have you been playing 3rd strike?

it has been 10 years, since i played the demo cabinet.

- why/how’d you start 3rd strike?

i used to play 2nd Impact on my own. later, i moved on to 3rd Strike.
back when i was studying at college, Gamest was nearby.
a lot of pepole used to play 3rd Strike there.

- what is your home-arcade and who is your sparring partner/person you play often?

i always went to Newton, Namiki, Vision and ?? for those ranking battles.
i have also played in ???Taro and Mickey.
these days, the arcade room i go is quite random.
by the way, i take quite a fancy to the heated atmosphere in Versus.

it’s hard to tell who i want to battle with,
but it’s always funny to fight someone you have never played before.
as members of the BM team,
fighting together annually (at big conferences) feels great too.

- which player influences/inspires you?

no one in particular, but Xiao must be mentioned.
he was very active during 3rd Strike’s early days.
i devoted myself to the game, since i wanted to gain his approval.

- what players do you look forward to seeing in tournament?

all those who take part.
or rather, i hope everyone will pay attention to our team.
the BM team will satisfy all you spectators.

- last comment?

thanks again for inviting me and Sugiyama.
we two are definitely old players. just wait and see if we can still kick ass.
sorry for talking so much.

I FINALLY get to read a lengthy Pino interview! He thinks he talks too much, but I LOVED his comments and feel he shoulda kept going if he had the chance! I guess Sugi was joking about YSB being a boring player, since YSB was thanked for being invited along w/ Sugi for interviews or what not, or that woulda been REALLY awkward…O_O

Bergkamp, you’re AWESOME, bro!

Yeah, he was most likely joking. YSB is one of the most exciting players to watch, rushdown SA3 Hugo lol

Any word on KOW2?

Thanks a lot bergkamp!

I’m SO glad Namijin’s back. His Ryu’s so fun to watch

I’m still pondering why he said Oro’s about as popular as SEAN! :open_mouth: I guess you don’t have that many new Oro players these days. Besides Dirty, Thana and Inoue (retired still?!), there was maybe only 1 other JP player, whose name still escapes my memory.
