Justin Wong leaves EMP for EG with Marn

Did GameFAQs also run that Shonen Jump fighting game on DS too? What was it called, Jump Ultimate Stars?

Yeah, it was larger than Bleach’s, but I also remember there being a lot of the world famous GameFAQs wankery on those boards. Oh and a lot of the players who sucked jumped ship to Bleach, and then quit altogether.

Well then, who rules Super Smash Bros.?

…Smashboards?

I Swear using that word should be like the “Secret Word” on Pee Wee’s playhouse that makes everyone freak out. You know like when Laurence Fishburn said he had Cancer.

They’re good?

Thought it was just another off-the-wall site for fans to blab about shit and only play for fun.

EDIT: Nvm checked their site. Wow they really improved over the years.

This could be the best thing for fighting games ever.

EMP was the only credible organization of pro fighting gamers ever, and now that the mainstream world has adpoted two of the best (Justin maybe the best ever) players it can only create more credibility for the genre in general.

Now with EMP and EG there is some history and potential rivalry of professionals that the other genres have. This can only mean more, attention, more $$$, and better fighting games for the future.

Is’nt it crazy to think two years ago were were living off of 3-4 games that were 10yrs old lol.

Its a place where the smashtards hang out and talk about smash and other dumb random shit. Skill? Meh. I don’t wanna get into it.

All the people who play smash competitively are at smashboards, it’s a pretty good place. Really in depth analysis of all the characters/techniques/everything, just like here but for smash.

Money over bitches. Go big or go home.

It’s seems like a business decision. I’ll just leave it at that.

This is why I care. Probably a good thing.

Yay, somebody else said it.

I wonder how competitve fighting game leagues will develop when wonderkid upstarts like Jayce the Ace start maturing?

Are you actually surprised that people are interested in the top US player?

If you don’t care then don’t post.

How does EMP feel about this move? Can they really look at it as “just business” and be cool with it?

where exactly does it say he left empire?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

That is all…

not surprised. what kinda grown ass man would believe a power glove wearing gamestop manager would be able to help them achieve their professional goals.

Heres my take on the situation. It was a smart move on Justin’s part to go to EG. They are a well developed organization that can sponsor him and connect him to the right people. EG has a good business model, connections in the gaming world, and not to mention they are pretty established. EG most importantly has an executive board. Empire Arcadia is run out of a shitty 2 family house in one of the worst parts of Brooklyn. EG has corporate sponsors, Empire Arcadia struggles with rent form month to month. EG can give Justin the opportunity to make the most out of his gaming skills, Empire Arcadia can siphon off rent money when he wins a tournament. The list goes on. Congratulations Justin. Heres to joining an organization that can facilitate gamer’s skills and provide them with the resources they need to excel. Cheers!

Someone posted Triforce was hard to deal with, business wise. Is there truth to this? I would think after all this time and all those tourney’s EMP would have sponsors already.

i cant imagine any nerd that wears a 21 year old console peripheral would be hard to deal with (ROLLS EYESSSSS)
