Hal doesn’t have the same casual following as the other JL members. I bet if you held up a picture of him most people couldn’t tell you his name.
Hal was a poorly written character for most of his existence until Geoff Johns brought him back. Honestly he was a better villain than he ever was a hero before that. Parallax was fucking everything up and was scary.
Jordan fans will never admit this but he isnt necessary at all. As mentioned earlier he is the least GL lantern because he is never around and most people grew up with either John or Kyle as the GL of the time.
I grew up with Hal/Guy as GL. I mean, I guess Alan Scott was there too but he doesn’t count. Although I was always indifferent towards Kyle except for his first three episodes, I admit post Parallax Hal was done to me

The John crowd are somewhat irrelevant since DC has thankfully decided to do the right thing and promote Jordan as the one and only true lantern since JLU went off the air. He’s been the JL in nearly every piece of media since JLU so I think it’s safe to assume he will be the GL in this new DCU assuming DC plans to include the GLs.
LOL Hal Jordan is boring as fuck. His only claim to fame is going crazy and killing a bunch of people and then dying for his sins.
The only times he’s even been remotely interesting were when DC ripped off Training Day for First Flight and whenever Fillion got to voice him.
I’ll take any other Green Lantern any day, even wimp ass Kyle.

Main Flash book still has the boring as fuck Barry Allen, while Max, Bart (Bar Torr did not exist) and all the cool speedster stuff is nowhere to be found.
Jordan is pretty much single handily responsible for keeping the GLs in line and saving the universe multiple times. His character is far from boring he’s basically a super cop in space.
Hal doesn’t keep a fucking thing in line. Traditionally that’s always been John’s job. Be it the League or the GL corps.
Saw SS yesterday. It was alright mostly cause I was expecting it to be awful. Katana is cute despite that she literally shows up out of nowhere lol

He’s over exposed, and as talented as he is - you need to give another actor a chance. I was really happy with his role in Star Trek Beyond, while certain crybabies were QQ’ing over him working under make-up, I’ve got nothing but respect for a big name actor who will set aside their ego to inhabit a character role.
That’s been the major flaw of every Superhero movie since Burton’s Batman. Casting a name actor who absolutely, positively must remove the mask during crucial scenes for fear the audience will forget it’s god damn Michael Keaton playing Batman or Toby Maguire playing Spiderman. The worst offender there. I don’t know what was worse - that terrible CGI in the Spiderman movies, or Toby Maguire’s stupid crying face.
Plus Elba has already been in several Marvel movies, though if Chris Evans is any measure - over exposure doesn’t prevent you from starring in comic book movies on both sides of the street.
It would be nice if Paterson Joseph could get some more work in Hollywood.

Anyway, yeah, I wouldn’t count on DC rebooting their rushed superhero universe at all given even if their movies bomb commercially and critically on the domestic level for reasons will doubtless completely fail to understand, they tend to still succeed commercially internationally because people (read: China) are idiots all the world over.
To say nothing for DC’s hate-on for Flashes not named Barry Allen and Earth Green Lanterns not named Hal Jordan has already been discussed.
Getting back on topic, I’m still curious as to how this movie will fare this weekend, especially since no “dumb, turn off your mind” action movies are coming out this weekend even though at least three or four promising mainstream movies come out this weekend.
I’ve been ignoring his clown ass since he pulled the Dork Tenure card. No word on the retirement package that provides, but given his posts I’m guessing it’s a mountain of salt. 
DC/WB on film seems content to follow the Bayformers model of, “Damn the quality - it makes money!”
I’ll just keep ignoring the movies, because the TV shows are serving me well.

The main point with Jordan is that he acts careless but ultimately he’s the best man for the job because his will power is what the GLs are all about.
LOL John has demonstrated even greater willpower than Hal.
That nigga constructed an entire planet once.
John’s contructs are also far more creative. Being an engineer he makes sniper rifles, cranes, etc with all the parts because he understands how they work. Which gives them weight, density, and harder to destroy for all the metas he has to fight.
Meanwhile Hal’s dumbass lazily makes mallets and giant fist contructs which has been a joke among fans for so long they started writing it into certain stories. Then he makes them completely hollow which in my minds why his shit always gets broken.
I dunno. I never bought into that most willpower shit anyway because John is a fucking marine. Hal is just a pilot.
Not saying I’d be the most creative Lantern either… I’d probably be making lame stuff like wrestling rings and chairs to hit people with… Or Kaijus. Kaijus would be good.
All this talk of GL makes me want to rewatch again JL. John was shown there to be great. Comics as well but the show really put him out there as my fave Lantern. Tired of Hal but DC isn’t it seems.
Jordan once stopped time across the entire solar system and had crazy ass feats in the silver age such as changing his body at a molecular level and making some broken tier constructs.
As far as power is concerned it’s Jordan>>>John. John is barely a footnote whenever cosmic events happen, there’s a reason guys like sinestro always pay attention to Jordan and not anyone else.
