Well I completely agree that the fireball isn’t slow enough to follow like Guile, but the hitbox definitely seems like it’d give her room for some wakeup stuff if she FADCs it.
You do bring up great points no doubt about that, but the fact that she has the option of holding them if she chooses does give her more options, and more options is certainly a plus.
Juri’s fireball is slow so she is more susceptible to being countered or trading hits which is bad in most cases since she has below average health. Also the angle they jump in has to be right or else you’ll leave yourself vulnerable for a counter attack. Her pinwheel is going to be a limited anti air since it doesn’t have invincibility so you might find yourself getting countered or trading hits often which isn’t good with her below average health.
While holding HK and anticipating they’ll jump you lose all the options of that button. Which is a waste if they don’t jump since you’re gimping her other great options like footsies.
Actually holding down HK you lost the ability to taunt which is good in rare instances. Playing Juri is similar to playing Hilde in SC4 without her combo of doom. :wasted:
I see Juri’s fireballs being much more useful as a mixup option after a knockdown or being used in corner combos.
Oh I had the impression by when you canceled her fireballs you can play like normal doing other moves, but at any time when you do the I guess QCF Kick motion again it would release the fireball.
Exactly. She won’t be a FB spammer, her FBs come out slow. She does the kick and then there is a slight delay even after that. I think it will be mainly for keeping people on the ground or forcing them to crouch block for your own jump in etc etc.
Is the one on the site the final statue? I know the animated gif is of the prototype you showed here some time ago. But I really want to know if the issue about her eyes has been addressed.
Yeah I figured as much, people just seemed really down on Juri’s fireballs when honestly they looked really good and fast from what I saw. The startup does have a hit box… not sure what the frames are on it but assuming it’s safe you can probably use it in block strings and store fireballs for later use. And I really think from what I’ve seen the low one moves slow enough to follow atleast a bit. I don’t think it’ll cover the whole screen but mid range I see it being a good way to get in… and as someone said… the mid range diagonal one should cover your approach to keep them from jumping and limit their options as well as being a good zoning tool.
Pinwheel is either gonna be a great anti or or suck… depends on how strong the hit box is… hopefully it doesn’t trade a lot. If it does trade maybe she has good combo options though.
Definetly english voice on most of the characters sucks (Juri’s voice is awesome) but I would like to hear it too…for example Dudley’s voice is like an 20 years old guy and he is much older for sure.
