Juri does look very interesting to play. Hate to say it but, I’ll probably be switching from Akuma to her.
Can’t wait!

Guile is becoming the new vega
the changes to her dodge are a nerf imo
Since shes safe after a dodge/in a good offensive position anyways chances are you aren’t going to lose the absorbed gray damage, and now the dodge doesn’t help her build ultra meter.
I Leak info:
Her follow ups to the air kick are called: 2nd impact > 3rd Strike.
care to leak something that we didn’t see on a video posted on the PREVIOUS PAGE?
Yea thats what I thought.
It depends on how you see it. The way you see it, it helps add to her offense. But her defense, and health are lacking. The fact that she doesn’t take focus damage anymore means that she can take more risks with it and overall live longer.
No one wouldve been hit after a dodge before the vast majority of that damage healed up anyways. The move always put you either A. completely out of harms way or B. in a position for free damage.
You are essentially trading how it now works on armor breaking moves for how it used to fill your revenge gauge.
I personally wouldn’t make that trade.
You already have a counter that dodges attacks and build meter. It’s called FADC
I think the importance of this move isn’t really based on changing it from a command focus to a straight counter but the invincibility and priority it will have. It’s just my opinion but it seems like its invincibility and priority will determine whether it’s just a high risk 6th sense type of move or a threatening quick response counter. From the looks of the original version it will be the first.
That depends on what you were hit by, if someone tries to bait it with a fireball, you could just end up getting DP’s or whatever they feel like throwing out. The only one that you can argue was completely safe from any type of followup attack would be the backward dash, and that’s what FADC can easily be used for.
Seems like Juri is going to be very easy to run away with. Just do full screen dive kicks all day, has a fast backdash… I think she’ll be very annoying to fight against once she gets a life lead. I was hoping she’d be primarily rushdown with poor defense/runaway, but I don’t think that will be the case.
That’s why Makoto’s in the game kid. She’s the high risk high reward rushdown character the series needed.
No way. Beating armor break and reversal moves and being able to use it on 2% life are more important than building Ultra meter.
Surely she’d build ultra quick enough anyway with her low health.
And her focus backdash seems quick enough to absorb something and escape.
Don’t think that’s the case, unless it’s been changed since the last playable build we saw, it shows the “blue shield” getting smashed against Adon.

Why are there no pictures of Juris movelist, when we have some from the 3S chars?
If the original build of the counter had FA properties and could be broken with certain specials then I would gladly have this new version otherwise she would be eating too much damage and even with a CC Ultra it wouldn’t be a good trade if you don’t have the life lead. Plus, this new version builds super meter for free so you can run away and build meter for an offensive rush down later on. I’m willing to bet her more advance combos are going to involve charge fireball into FADC’s so it doesn’t hurt to have a move that can build meter when you are on the defensive.
Huh? There was a video with her movelist in it, but I couldn’t see shit. Is that the one you’re talking about?
Does juri have a projectile? I heard its something weird like you hold it while moving or something.
Yes. The first part of her projectile is an upward kick. From there, depending on which button you press you can get a fireball that travels along the ground, one that can be used as an anti-air, and one that goes at around hadouken level. After the upward kick, you can hold the button you pressed then basically walk around with a stored fireball.
