Well, yeah. But in the event you end up taking some damage during Feng Shui (which you probably will, it’s no Genei-Jin forcefield), you’ll be that much closer to another one when it’s over. I just thought that was an interesting design decision by Capcom. Why not start at 0 ultra meter after the time runs out?
Like, let’s say you focus some Ryu fireballs, and you get ultra while you still have about 75% of your health. You activate at about 50% meter, then run into a DP FADC ultra from Ryu while your timer is going down. You wake up, run out of time, but then immediately get to activate again.
Either they didn’t care to figure out how to stop meter gain during the Ultra, or they think that she puts herself in enough risk while performing the move (and that it’s not guaranteed damage) that she deserves to be able to pull off quickly after the first time.
I just hope EX pinwheel is safe on block and has good invincibility. Considering she probably won’t ever be able to FADC it and it’s her only real get-off-me move.
I’d be cool with no get off me move since I main viper right now so I’m used to blocking or dashing on wake up. and from the look of things her dash is pretty godlike.

Juri also has those counter moves where the teleport behind, back dash, or straight jump. Those are all viable escape moves, imo. I think you could probably option select the back dash and straight jump and maybe the auto correct the dash behind move but I don’t think it would be that easy to do. It should grant you enough surprises to get out of being pressured but EX Pinwheel does look safe in general.
Her evade is, in the right hands, likely a deadlier escape option than pinwheel.
Also, just saw the new trailer. Was I the only one who was genuinely worried for her not being able to get away from Chun in the opening part of the trailer?
Juri vs Chun is a great rivallry but Chun’s always been my hero so I have mixed feelings about the outcome ;~;
Juri is too awesome tho. And srsly it takes both Chun AND Cammy to match her. Clearly Juri is a powerhouse in canon…so I hope she has high tier potential after much practice, like Viper.
And do not fear! The strongest woman in the world is hospitalized by Juri…so…she does a LOT more than just “get away” from her.
