So its Cammy with fireballs xD
uh, yay
Woah, don’t compare her to Cammy. Doing that would imply she sucks.
whoa, whoa, whoaaaa… Let’s not get too crazy here…
And no DP!
Well, except for the fact that she actually has an aggressive move which looks safe on block, on top of fireballs which look difficult to punish, meaning her pressure game looks a lot more impressive than Cammy’s, especially at mid range. So maybe like Cammy with Fireballs and a lk spiral arrow which is safe on block without needing crazy good spacing (and no dp)… and possibly better normals… so not really like Cammy at all.
Lack of an overhead may make her CC look a lot less interesting unless you can combo into it (which removes what makes it different from normal Utras if it’s the major use), or at least knock down -> CC -> truly ambiguous cross up. It’s certainly looking like Genei-Juri is a bit of a misnomer, but she looked interesting before the CC, so maybe people will just have to accept that her CC isn’t a free ticket to autopilot mixups.
Also see her doing fireballs in Feng Shui Engine and she did do the kick part of it So the video on the capcom site they pre-stored the fireballs to do that combo.
That’s exactly what I was implying. I wasn’t talking about playstyle but getting screwed over by people who are blocking low the whole match, lack of mixups are something I really hate in a charecter.
Dictator doesn’t have and overhead for “mixups” he just has scissor kick pressure, that works fine against down backers, just like I expect pinwheel to (assuming it’s as safe as it looks).
What about that at around 5:26? Is that an over head?
It’s possible, and I really hope it is. Genei Juri would be so much less useful without an overhead.
Yes, that’s an overhead, and I believe you can combo off of it.
Not to be rude, but how do you know this? Have you seen it first hand/in a video or what?
Correct me if I’m wrong but Juri along with a lot of other characters were playable at Vegas fight night, no?
No, you’re right. Hence why I asked whether you seen it in a video, or if you were there and seen it first hand.
I think Seth mentioned her overhead too in one of the many showings he did. So she certainly has one.
never said she was a charge toon, just dont know the name of her kick that LOOKS like a pinwheel / flash kick. reading comprehension seriously.
as far as their sweeps go:
@ 1:25 Kim sweeps Andy
0:56 Juri sweeps T. Hawk
they look EXACTLY the same. they both sweep, then pull their kicking leg (back) back to them.
to me their Hangetsu Zan type kicks look the same. you could argue either way i suppose.
as far as dive kicks and fireballs, not TKD (and i’m sure we all know that here anyway).
we have a similiar kick on one base foot in olympic style TKD thats more of a cut-kick where you travel on your rear foot and front pushes. the stance i suppose mimics that a tiny bit.
i never got into ITF compared to Olympic Style because i didnt see the point of pulling the power on the kicks. if you do that all the time, there’s a mental barrier that may keep some people from actually kicking if they really needed to. and as far as the credentials of my school, my instructor is a 6th dan that competed in the World Poomsae Championship in Korea a few years back and in Turkey (where it was held last year). but all that is off topic, so i’ll shut up now.
I think I’ll give Juri a shot, but from what I’ve seen… people tell me she’s a worse C. Viper but with Genei-Engine… which seems awful. I dunno. Lolcapcom.
people have told you wrong.
And Juri sweeps with her right leg while facing the camera, Kim does it facing AWAY from the camera.
So while Kim is rotating backwards, Juri is rotating forwards. They do look SIMILAR though.
I used to think Juri was cool looking but really didn’t have an interest in playing her. After watching more videos I’ve decided that she looks fun as hell to play
I dont see how Juri is like viper at all.
