I thought World was just all right, not amazing. Trailer just looks like a (probably) better Lost World, hopefully without the dumb bullshit of a T-Rex in San Diego again. Lost World was just absolutely awful, so I don’t think Fallen Kingdom could do any worse than it.
I want cadillacs in this
The best thing that I saw about the trailer was the fact that the dinosaurs were actually…well….Real Dinosaurs. We didn’t see some Brachiogiganotoceratops gene spliced dinosaur or whatever. We saw Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Carnotaurus, Baryonx, Velociraptor (although more akin to Deinonychus), Ankylosaurus, Compys, and yes, of course Tyrannosaurus Rex.
So from a dinosaur list perspective, I was very pleased, and the fact that they are incorporating more animatronics this time around and only using CGI when absolutely necessary means that they are at least going in the right direction with the dinosaurs.
It would be nice to see a new younger, possibly adolescent Tyrannosaurus Rex, since Rexy is basically at the threshold of how old Rexes can actually get, considering her species age, she would literally be around 90+ years old. The highest recorded age for a Rex discovered was Trix at 30, with Sue (largest to confirmed) at around 28 years old, with majority of specimens we have ranging from the late teens to mid-20s and with Rexy from Jurassic Park/World now hitting the 27-28 year old mark, she would be considered a grandma.
Rexy was made on purpose in the Jurassic World era to be thinner, with tighter skin on purpose due to her age in contrast to her more bulky self back in JP1 when she was in her heyday.
They could actually just reintroduce that youngling Rex from The Lost World, as he would be a perfect replacement for Rexy. He would not only be fully grown but more importantly being only about 20 years old, he would also be in his absolute prime for a Tyrannosaurus Rex, which would make a perfect fit.
Still, with the popularity of Rexy (she’s still my favorite dinosaur from the JP/W series), I highly doubt this would ever be the case.
Absolutely do not give a fuck about JW2 after seeing that trailer.
Fallen Kingdom looks like trash. More Dino whisperer bullshit.
quiet you…we obviously want
Raptors behaving like pack animals was far more believable than when JP3 said they were smarter than primates. lmao
Jurassic World was worth watching at least once, I’m skipping this one.
I couldn’t agree more, although the envelope imo was pushed to some extreme points in Jurassic World pertaining to the Raptors. In JP3 the amount of Nonsense in there was ridiculous, I mean, you had them “not killing” humans to setup a “trap.” and all that other garbage which was completely ridiculous.
Jurassic World with the Raptors in some senses felt like a “tame” Tiger…sure it may not probably kill you out right, however watch your back as it could potentially kill you whenever it’s mood shifts, coinciding to a wild animal that is only “suppressed” in a way.
This at least made it more believable, where as JP3 Raptors were on the verge of discovering fire, developing spears and bows along with a written language.
The really funny thing about the JP3 raptors is that they didn’t actually do anything new. They set a trap in the original film, and they clearly communicated with each other (kitchen scene). The filmmakers just went completely over the top trying to sell everybody on the idea that these raptors were somehow much smarter than before, because the only other possible selling point for the movie would be as a drinking game for any time a character goes, “wait…did you hear that?”
New trailer…
Getting pretty tired of all these “genetically enhanced” dinosaurs angles they have been doing lately. We’re recycling the Indomins Rez storyline now?
this looks like utter garbage. holy shit.
I said this when they were going to release Jurassic World that genetically “altered” monsters no longer makes this about dinosaurs but simply putting dinosaurs on the wayside while promoting monsters in their wake.
Instead I got bombarded by individuals who said this would be “such a cool idea” and that I didn’t know what I was saying.
Just look at the Indominus Rex and one could already tell that it’s basically a Giganotosaurus but “altered” slightly.
So in part, they should’ve just PUT the real Giganotosaurus into the movie and it would’ve been perfectly fine.
However, we’ll now be having Gen Dinosaurs taking over the screen time of a Jurassic movie, and in my mind at this point one should stop calling it “Jurassic” if the mainstream of the movie is no longer really a dinosaur.
Lastly, I would love to see the Spinosaurus back, however being made to the confines of the real Spinosaurus, not the Godzilla counterpart from JPIII.
They should also make a new younger Tyrannosaurus Rex, possibly like a passing of the torch thing, which would be fitting as well. In fact the Baby Tyrannosaurus Rex back in 1997 would be perfect since it would be in it’s physical prime within the current time line of 2018, since it would actually be in it’s early 20s, which would coincide with the real T. Rex hitting their peak years.
I wanted the genetic altered person squad script they had floating around years back. Sort of like Extreme Dinosaurs like movie we never got.
So there’s an even NEWER dino now? Indominus Rex is old hat
Jurassic Park short film…
They back…
Ahh the hold “Break in case of nostalgia” glass.
The real legitimate news that I’m happy for pertaining to Jurassic World 3 is the mere fact that it will only be focused upon the real dinosaurs and not some “Super Legankylosaurus Rex” garbage hybrid garbage again.
Was against it back in Jurassic World and I surely didn’t change change my position in JW:FK. However, if we can focus back upon the T.Rex, Raptor (Blue), and the other less revealed dinosaurs like the Allosaurus, possibly introducing a new but real dinosaur, like Giganotosaurus, or “maybe” reintroducing the Spinosaurus back just so it can get rolled over by Rexy.
Point being, I’m happy it’s once again about dinosaurs and not some circus freak show monster.
