Hey, I’m dmbrandon on live. I’m looking to come tonight for marvel, but I don’t have a converter, and I play octogon. Does anyone have a stick/converter I can borrow for matches tonight? If not, I’m probably gonna chill home.
Marvel is bringing about 20 people. Which was the same we were getting with super when super was slow. During super hype it was not out of the ordinary for 30 some people to show up. Marvel has yet to do that at its most hype. So I don’t think attendance is a good argument for keeping Marvel.
i dont remember vanilla having many huge turnouts at all, i mean i was randomly getting top 5 sometimes and i was hot garbage in that game. it was when super started poppin and jaxel started streaming and summer break hit when we would get 40+ people and shit would end at 3am.
There may not be as many people entering the tournaments right now, but the game is still new. There are definitely way more spectators than we had for ssf4. When SF4 first came out on consoles, a lot of the players already had experience with the game in arcades which provided bigger incentives to travel to the break. I think when average players can find more consistent ways to win, they will start entering tournaments. I still think the level of play that I see at the break is really great and that the players who enter every week are levels ahead of everyone else.
As far as I know, there’s a lot of people who do not come because the tournament starts/ends too late. Maybe we should update this thread with realistic start times. Also, I think extending casual play for more than 30 minutes before the tourney starts would draw more ppl in.
Anyway, I always thought the bonus pots we had for sf4 brought in the most tournament players.
#101: Will Chris G continue his dominance with NY at his side? Will Josh Wong, accompanied by PA, return to the throne he once called home for 3 straight weeks? Will MarlinPie achieve greatness never before attained by NJ Marvel on his home turf? Or will a new king rise to glory?
