[July 9, 2013] 8otB Weekly: CAN YOU MAKE ME A SANDWICH? (UMvC3 & Injustice) (Dunellen, NJ)

co-signing this happy birthday kdz

I can’t make it tonight, but happy birthday anyways.

Bump for the Break kids.

Best weekly.

I’ll be there tonight with friends.

I need a ride home!

I got you covered.

Fun times tonight! Met/caught up with a bunch of people and had a blast playing with ya’ll. I was the guy in the ECC9 shirt playing Gief, GGs to all.

You gotta bring your A game to the Break. It’s serious stuff in there!

We keep the big games coming.

bumping the break

Actually… its not impossible. High Definition defines a RESOLUTION, not a QUALITY setting. So technically, you can have a standard definition video with higher quality than a high definition video. If I wanted to, I could do a simple Bilinear Resize function on a 640x360 video and bump it up to a 1920x1080 resolution and call it HD. Technically it is HD at that point, but the quality wont be any better than the SD version (infact, it will will be worse because I chose to use Bilinear Resize in this example as opposed to something superior such as Lancoz3 Resize).

That being said, even if I bumped our source to HD, it wouldn’t matter. Because both Justin.TV and uStream.TV do not offer HD services with their free service; so anyone who claims that they broadcast in HD from their free account, is either full of shit, or have no idea what they are talking about. Infact, both Justin.TV and uStream.TV do not even offer STANDARD definition, the videos you see on Justin.TV and uStream.TV are sub standard definition that are blown up to standard definition size. They do this because it takes a TON of processing power and bandwidth to offer video online; and most people can’t tell the difference between 720x480 (SD) and 480×272. That being said, uStream.TV DOES offer HD video through their Watershed service, but its very expensive. If you do the math, if you run 5 hours of video a week, with 1,000 viewers, that would be… about 20,000 viewing hours a month… which would come to about $1400 a month using uStream’s Watershed service.

I don’t have any problems with the stream, but for fuck sake get rid of that Disneyland shit font. Please.

Find me a better font then. A font that is easy to read, doesn’t look tacky, and works with Wirecast. Wirecast is a SHITTY program, I can’t say it enough. It can’t handle truetype fonts correctly, so dont give me a link to download some font, because that shit wont work!

Dude I would have stuck with Arial or Impact. I would suggest Spyroclassic or Headlines on dafont.com though, most anything in the sans-serif section.

As for not accepting truetype fonts, well that’s wirecast sucking ass, haha.

I’m back from Devastation and will come to the break after I get off of work. I’ll be there around 9.

Can we chip in to buy some folding chairs for the break or something? I can’t bring them all the time because I can’t drive anymore.

Chair donations to the break? Or we go back to stools motherfuckers.

Amazon.com: Steel Folding Chairs with Padded Seat - Light?

come on peeps

Keep this shit on page 1 motherfuckers.

40+ every tuesday night.

Top players getting blown up every week.

This is truly America’s TRF.

Why isn’t this thread stickied by now? 63 straight weeks of SF4. 40 plus on a damn Tuesday in the middle of Jersey. Top players being put on brast. And now with the addition of a quality stream. Sticky this joint.

If I don’t have a business meeting on Wednesday, I’ll try to make it up there after work.
