I was originally planning on going to the full event, but I might have to work overtime so now I’m not sure. I might be able to get off work in time for marvel singles though, otherwise I might go for casuals if there will be those(haven’t been to an in-person tourney before, so if I don’t enter singles and can’t play period let me know cause I don’t wanna show up and pay without being able to play at all). If I make it in time I’d probably enter SSF4 teams as well if someone needs a teammate though I am complete ass at that game.

VSB runs 64 man team+singles tournaments starting from 2pm to 11pm with 8 setups… pretty sure you’ll finish in time.

Here is some additional information from the 604 thread, just in case you (YES YOU) were too busy or lazy to read it there!

I am bringing a setup for ST to the tournament because fuck yes ST.

We’ll totally do a side tourney if enough people actually want to.
I honestly have no idea how many people will care and come.
Otherwise I’m just going to run a casuals setup all day-ayy.

Just so that nobody feels like they got tricked:

• The setup I’m bringing using is the Dreamcast version with the correct dipswitch save file. This is hands-down, by far and above, the best console port available. We’ll be using a pair of lagless PS1/PS2 controller converters, so if you have a nice PS1 or PS2 stick you’d like to use then bring it with you.
• Some cool people (who probably already know) tried to coordinate a complete supergun setup, but nothing has been confirmed. If it somehow shows up intact, of course we’ll use that instead.

The venue is reaaally cool. It’s basically a huge abandoned warehouse. Fighting games are on a projector. They have food trucks outside too.

*** Important *** - - - The venue is very tricky to find!!!
This webpage will give you driving directions if you need them. See the 2nd page of the PDF file for a proper map.
Here is a Google Maps link that shows Street View pointing directly to the proper building: it’s the big light brown building with giant white garage doors in the very center of the view. This opening in the fence is actually where you drive in, and there is parking everywhere. (Zoom out to see the position marker on the map itself.)
There are white signs with neon arrows that will help to guide you there. They don’t have any writing on them. The arrows are pink and orange and yellow, outlined in black.

I’m probably going to be there sometime a little before noon, and I’ll keep Super Turbo running all day.

If you’re playing AE and/or Marvel 3, it looks like there are going to be a lot of setups there.
If you are planning on bringing a setup with you, I strongly recommend bringing a power bar for it, if you can. Extension cord should not be necessary from what I saw.
There indeed will be lots of other people there playing Counter-Strike and Starcraft and Magic cards. And Call of Duty, and Dungeons & Dragons, apparently. And who knows what else. I figured I’d mention this stuff because I know some of you like other games too.

Thanks, and a huge thanks to you for running the brackets and bringing your setup, I’m more or less the CrossxoveR rep for older/sad/anime/poverty/obscure games so I was well in my element. I have to apologize for the lack of fancy layouts, the huge gaps in recording due to losing internet constantly, and a lack of a solid knowledgable commentator. We had a lot of technical and organizational difficulties we hope to adress before our next event.
