If you’re gonna mess around with having curves on your sticks… why not make thigh grooves at the BOTTOM of the stick for people who prefer having the stick on their legs while sitting on a chair!

Not all thighs are built equally, my big ol legs plus ball spacing would make the stick too big!
I’m not a huge fan of “different for the sake of being different”; I love function over form or style. That being said, your creation is interesting and possibly inspiring to those who make or think about making sticks.
I suggested plastic just to be different. I really have no preference on materials when playing WITH a stick. Should i branch out and do something more than slap in a new stick+buttons into a pre-fabbed commercial joystick case and charge people for it, I’d probably change my tune.
Plus, something about plastic just feels industrial, not necessarily higher grade or anything, but it feels modern. Kinda like the diff between Astro City cabs and Dynamo cabs.
That thing is hella weird. With a crazy paint job It would look pretty pimp! And, you would get some serious points for beating scrubs with it.

will this stick perform worse that a standard stick? Possibly, But on the other hand, your hands natural position isn’t 100% pronated, which is why it may end up being more comfortable to play on than a normal stick.
If that’s the case, i’d be happy with just that. There’s some really sick stick makers out there, far more artistically skilled than me, i’d love to see some more interesting designs.
albert thanks for the comment. The white finish is so smooth it looksl ike a bowling ball, i can’t paint over it, although i am temped to put some eyeballs on it so it really does look like 12’s head!

cool stuff mullah! reminds me of a motorcycle gas tank! mounting the stick might require some creativity but since you have made it this far it really shouldnt be much of an obstacle. two wooden cleats to level out the inside may do the trick?
different is good, sometimes we gotta think outside of the box to keep things fresh or at least to make them interesting. it’s really hard to slap four pieces of wood together and make it different each time and when so many people are making sticks its not really hard to “bite” one’s style. there’s 2 common router bits used and MOST people just want either black or white coloured sticks!
it took me a while for people to accept my madness too, but well we know how thats gone… keep up the cool work! if you need any help i’d try my best to do so!

i’ve touted you as the cleanest stick maker on earth, so it’s very nice to receive a compliment from you.
Paik4life mentioned you might be able to make a custom sanwa shaft so that i can bottom mount on some cleats without the need for internal routing. i route by hand with a chisel, so i don’t think i have the nerve to try and internally route close to the surface with a curved surface.:sad:

I can make you a shaft, looking at the shape I’d say it needs to be about 2cm longer? just a guess? it would be after the holidays but I could most certainly come up with something for you

You’re probably right, but what i’ll do is attach the cleats, and mount the hump plate and then measure exactly how long the shaft has to be.
i got armadillo to solder my xbox pad and he took 6 months to send it back! and it broke about a month later…But regardless, i’m never in a rush with this hobby of mine, as long as the final product is as good as it can be i’ll wait.

Just to let you know, getting a custom shaft will make the throw distance much longer than it’s suppose to be. Doesn’t seem to bother some people, bothers me like hell though.
i’m readin ya, i have considered that but i’m confident i’ll either compensate quickly or not even notice.
