Joystick maintanence for hire

I know I’m in the minority. But who do I hire (someone else than my joystick maker) to maintain a joystick? If you have neither the equipment nor the skills to solder when the joystick tells you to do it yourself (like KY Enterprises can with such weak solders that it’s almost a subscription service if you can"t diy) how does one reasonably maintain it?

I tried handymen, but most don’t do electronics soldering. My local VoEd place doesn’t have electronics soldering equipment. And most TV, radio, etc. Repair shops will only touch things that are mass manufactured and have definitive plans all mapped out. Some might even turn you into Homeland Security thinking you’re trying to get them to work on a bomb with their fingerprints on it which I understand why they don’t want to work with non-standard electronics.

Maybe we can have a list of people as a directory of maintenance solderers and other joystick off jobs, whose prices for minor jobs are cheaper than paying for shipping out to another state or nation and back.

Frankly I think it’s stupid to offer to build a joystick and then have is your only customer service tell them how to solder it. I’m thinking if they knew how to solder, chances are they would be halfway towards building their own joystick anyway. It kind of defeats the point of hiring a solderer.

I’m looking for someone close to Cleveland Ohio.

Dude, there’s a stickied link at the top of this forum EXACTLY for this already…

I was hoping this aS more general. Meaning those who wouldn’t do the complete job, but are just maintanence/ touch up jobs.

I assume all the full service joystick makers would automatically qualify.

This list is just people who would do off jobs that don’t require joystick art/science expertise.

Mainly local electronics repairman for hire to do the soldering jobs that are too small of simple to waste shipment cost to the specialistsnand back.

I was hoping these are more local and more available than the joystick artists/scientists.
