Wouldn’t Cars not have a stand because Ripple Energy is his weakness right?

If that’s true, what about Dio? He didn’t evolve like Cars so he should still be weak to the ripple.
Stands make no sense as being Ripple manifested. They make more sense as evil spirits.
*I think of it as the JoJo universe system of evolution in humans. Regular people > Utilizing Hamon > Stand manifestation.

Yes he was still weak to the Ripple in Part III, as evident by his showdown with Joseph Joestar and coating himself in energy to protect from the Hamon and Hermit Purple shenanigans. But it’s pretty evident Dio’s Stand came from Jonathan’s body and not Dio’s…head lol.
I think this is just another instance of him evolving the story and shit as he goes, Jojo’s has pretty rocky mechanics. Even then I thought Cars utilized the Ripple which would in turn let him harness a Stand. But Araki seems to be favoring alternate universes lately and letting the main timeline have a long break.

DIO has 2 stands, The World whichs is his that he got from the arrow and a version of Hermit Purple which is Jonathans. I think Araki did away with Stands being connected to the Ripple and just had Stands being created through human potential or outside means such as the arrow or discs. Many characters were born with Stands also which is another reason I think Stands=Ripple was just there to try and connect plot points.
Pretty much what Abbachio and others have said really regarding the development of stands. There’s an interview with the creator about the whole theme that runs through Jojo, such as human achievement.
As for Cars, some of the stands in the series have… some of the most ridiculous powers/abilities I’ve ever seen lol. He’d put up a good fight though.

Eh not really. Stands are shown to be kinda broken, at least by that universe’s standards. All the things Star Platinum can do…fast, strong, and precise enough to catch a bullet in his fingertips mere MMs away from Jotaro’s head? Estimated million super-punches a second, etc.
Cars may be the ultimate hippy, being all BraveStar with the animals and all, but he’s NOT invincible.
Jotaro Vs Ultimate Cars? Jotaro lures him into a fight near a steel refinery, then Star Platinum stops time, and chucks Cars into the molten pit T-1000 style. The end of the “Ultimate Lifeform”.
Cars may be pretty awesome, in that he has control over evolution with all the animal powers + super regeneration at his command, but that stuff can only do so much. I’m actually a little disappointed at this “Utlimate” lifeform mode.
I always thought of them as peak Psychic energy and manipulation. The stands are merely the subconscious manifestation of the inner person’s true form, ultilizing all those psychic powers.
Example: If your inner subconscious personality, the person you really are within, could be given an external shape & look descriptive of your personality? That would be your stand given external form by any psychic powers you had boiling to the surface.
Stands never appeared supernatural or magical to me.
Why is Cars such a bastard? Seriously, what’s his motivation beyond ultimate-ness? And where are you guys seeing the ep after Cars put on the mask? …which, according to people on google talking about it, has the honor of having 2 names like an 80’s police show: “Birth of the ultimate being!” or “Vampire Dubstep Squirrel”.
Trying to rectify hamon and Stands in the Jojo verse is something of a lost cause. The more Jojo’s you read the more it becomes apparent that Kubo Araki was making stuff up as he went along. For example, two coffins.

The Jojo characters want to beat him first off, on principal. He created the Stone masks that caused everything to begin with. Secondly, he’s your typical, arrogant, power-mad villain who thinks himself above everyone else. Given the chance he’ll create a crap-ton of vampires to terrorize humanity.

No they are not. The ripple and Stands are totally different. Ripple is like Ki energy, while stands are along the lines of psychic persona manifestations.

You mean Araki right? Kubo wishes he could write like him lol. And yeah, Araki even admitted to making stuff up as he went along when he was lecturing at a university. Apparently, the series was supposed to start off solely with stands, but Araki came up with Hamon and thought it was cool.
And Araki loves to put random references in Jojo, one of the most random being when Dio [details=Spoiler]runs over Wally/Waldo along with a bunch of other people in Part 3[/details]
@Rhio: I figured Cars’ motivation was to live freely and not worry about the sun, but since he’s such a prick, the heroes figured he’d wanna screw over humanity and use them as food. Oh, and if you wanna quickly catch the latest episode, type “jojo episode animecenter” in a search engine and that’ll get you the episode.
