JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle confirmed by Bandai-Namco

I seriously can’t wait to play this game, just ordered my copy. So how long does the free Fugo DLC last?

I think he’s free until the 25th.

I wish there were more European or US players online all I can get is 1bar lagfests with JP peeps. T_T

I’d kill for some Canada folk.

I’m in the UK and will have my copy on the 19th, probably won’t be online that day but I should be online pretty regularish afterwards, psn is Istillduno.
There’s a gamefaqs thread for EU players as well, I know gamefaqs can be a bit of a mixed bag to say the least, but I’ve noticed a few other guys from SRK lurking around there so it’s worth a shot.

Add me up; I’m from Alberta.

PSN - Killeykun

I just got the game today and my attention is split with FFXIV and soon to be GTAV but I’ll try to squeeze some games in from time-to-time.

Possibly the 25th huh, hopefully I’ll get my copy before then. Speaking of DLC I heard other characters have been leaked out, some say Diego is one of them.

You can download him without the game, just hit up the Japanese psn store and grab him while he’s free.

Sounds good. Hey do I have to have a Japanese PSN card or actual Yens to add in my Japanese PSN account? Cause I wanna grab the other DLC characters that I have to pay for.

You can just buy a Japanese psn card.

Hey guys is there a shortcut to transitioning to standing on mode and continue a combo after a puttsun cancel?

But DLC means Diego-Less Content

I messed about with Jotaro post-patch as I’d heard he’d took a bit of a hammering. Here’s some basic stuff for anyone starting out. He’s a versatile, well-rounded character and the easiest of the STAND users to learn their specific sub-system. Don’t kill me if it’s not super-optimised.

His STAND OFF moveset has good ground and air control. A DP for anti-airing and OraOra to stop horizontal approaches. At max range it’s as (relatively) safe as anything else is in ASB. Jump M is a solid crossup and Jump H has great range to stop approaches from the ground if you are airborne. His gameplan changes when in STAND ON, where he gains his main mixup tools - Star Finger and Inhale - which are both Stand-Rush capable. His STAND ON OraOra becomes a rekka and combo extender. Using Puttsun on the last hit of mashed 236H will keep them grounded for extended combos and damage. He also gains an overhead (6H) which is special-cancellable, which has excellent range and good hitstun, if a little unsafe on block. As for AA, he loses his DP but his 2H has two parts - a low sweep with fairly short range, which then extends further and upwards and hits high. It’s an okay, far AA but is very slow and doesn’t deal with close-in jumps very well.

I’d recommend starting with Jotaro if you’re going to be using any STAND user. The game isn’t complicated, but it’s good to start with him as he has a good balance of defence and offence, and eases players into the various systems the game has.

Also - make sure you mash your Crack Fists. It makes a difference.

STAND OFF Meterless BnB

STAND OFF 2L > 5MH > 3H xx 63214H

Does solid meterless damage from STAND OFF and builds a decent amount of meter. The hard knockdown is good but you don’t get much from it due to the distance you are from the opponent.

STAND OFF BnB into HHA

STAND OFF 2L > 5MH > 3H xx 236 H (Mash) xx HHA

Decent damage HHA BnB. Mash to get the damage up and cancel as close to the last hit as possible. If the last hit connects, the HHA will not.

STAND OFF 1-Bar BnB (Round Start)

STAND OFF 2L > 5MH > 3H xx 623H PC > 66 > 66 > 5LH xx 63214H

Main ‘PC into Hard Knockdown’ BnB. New gravity means you can’t land 9H and combo afterwards consistently. Replacing jumps with dashes is the order of the day with most characters’ revised BnBs. Does about 280 damage and generates enough meter to be able to Stand-Rush with Star Finger once you have a knockdown up close, preferably with 2LMH.

STAND OFF Transition BnB

STAND OFF 2L > 5MH > 3H PC STAND ON 5LMH xx 236H (Mash) > 236H

Does about the same damage as the STAND OFF BnB, but is a closer knockdown. Also gives you the option of cancelling into HHA if you have the meter unlike the STAND OFF BnB.

STAND OFF GHA BnB

STAND OFF 2L > 5MH > 3H xx 623H PC > 66 > GHA

A solid 470+ damage GHA combo. It’s a little expensive but the ease of which you can land this is it’s best point. It’s basically DP FADC Ultra. Does teach you that the majority of characters will need to spend three bars to combo into GHA.

STAND ON Meterless BnB

STAND ON 2L > 5MH xx 236H (Mash) > 236H

Hard knockdown BnB with the second rekka ender. You can do the first rekka, mash and then Puttsun the last hit to land extended combos, or cancel into HHA.

Will look into his mixup a bit more in-depth at some point, but he’s a character that can be played with just solid fundamentals and do well.

CC2 apparently put out patch notes for 1.02, not just 1.03:

I’m especially curious about what they said for the individual character changes in 1.02, but I haven’t found a proper translation of this yet.

I haven’t unlocked any characters yet but after playing around with the starting characters and the free dlc ones I think I like Buccellati the best so far. Seems like he has a lot of tools for mix ups but they all require meter for puttsun cancels to be effective. Might be a meter hog but I like the versatility followed by his resurrection ability.

I’m really liking how the game has a lot of character specific mechanics that are faithful to the source material. Every character feels really unique in this game. My only issue is that the game feels really slow and the frame rate is really inconsistent.

beautiful stuff here. I found a few other setups, but this gives you a good idea just how many characters can take advantage of taunt combos~

Can someone explain what’s going on here? I’m not familiar with the game mechanics yet so I don’t understand why any of this works. Do the moves OTG and then taunt cancelling lets you combo after wards or do the moves normally don’t OTG and the taunt somehow makes that work?

Also, taunt combos would get incredibly annoying after a while due to long animations and repetitive phrases.

DIO has some pretty good damage. Damn this game has so much potential!

Love Fugo. He was one of my faves in the manga, so I am VERY glad to see he is a threat, and can deal some good damage in ASB. Still learning to combo with him. We all already know his Purple Haze Distortion hits like a damn 2 ton jackhammer.

Yeah the moves used in the video don’t hit otg outside of this taunt cancel tech. There are actual OTG moves like Joseph’s Warhammer and Kura’s stomp but it looks like they won’t work for this taunt cancel stuff. Seems like it needs a projectile that has a low to the ground hitbox and a Puttsun cancel during the startup. Seems cool I’ll have to try this out. I wonder if Kars (Cars?) can do it with his Squirrel while in Ultimate form…?

Oh and I added you on PSN under my japanese account, JaguarAvatar.

That’s tons of good info that’ll help me, really appreciate that! Besides Jotaro being an easy Stand User character, what othee characters are easy to use? I heard PB Dio is the easiest since his Style doesn’t do anything but that life drain command throw.
