I hope it has more than just 3 or 4 characters from each chapter. Playing the Stardust Crusaders characters and not having Joseph/Polnareff/Kakyoin/Avdol seems highly unlikely. The series is populated by dozens and dozens of potential characters all worthy of inclusion, it’s going to be impossible to meet every expectation. Its Bandai/Namco, so DLC is going to be inevitable. And, like a shmuck, I will buy all of it because JOJO
We need Avdol so I can scrub it out like I always do on GGPO.
Jotaro and Dio FTW. plus "Dragonba-- er Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Stand fistfights while flying across the stage and damaging plenty of the environment. CyberConnect2 has a penchant for going “over-the-top” with their animated cutscenes just like in Asura’s Wrath which imho was done well enough so i see the potential of crazy shit happening on-screen every 30 seconds or so in every match. Bandai-Namco just needs to step up their gameplay so it can be competitive enough. i also don’t see the point of trying to cram in truckloads of characters and having them become mediocre. the Capcom JJBA games had a decent roster and it still played well regardless of broken characters or not. i’m hyped for the new game though but still have some reservations concerning it’s system.

Well let’s, see we already have 14 characters pretty much confirmed (protags/antags) quite a few fighters now days have pretty huge rosters (SSF4AE with 39 iirc, KOF XIII with over 40, MvC3 with 50+? etc.) So let’s say they want the final roster at 50, that’s 36 other heroes and villians we’ll get.
Also take into account that a lot of characters in JoJo’s don’t really have the ability to fight and/or would be too strange to add to the game like Steely Dan, Risotto, Guess etc. All in all I think we’ll have pretty decent and diverse roster. Obviously this not fact and mere speculation on my part but I think this the way it should and probably will go.
Yeah, there’s a lot of characters that simply won’t work. I mean, how the hell would Cheap Trick play? You cross them up and they die instantly?
Besides, I think they’ll have enough trouble coming up with gameplay for some of the weirder main stands - King Crimson will probably give them major headaches. Jojolion’s Soft and Wet will probably be quite tough.
I have plenty of idea’s how Soft and Wet could work. Hell one special is a given, Bubble Trip cause a patch of ground to lose traction.
Battle Tendency > Stardust Crusaders.
Maybe they could work some sort of buff/debuff system? Like for example, sapping your opponent’s strength, health, meter and etc for yourself? The problem lies in balancing a system like that.

If everyone has their own mechanic that right there gives them a strength.
I’m sort of hoping that they keep the power up poses for Hamon users from the Phantom Blood game. I mainly just want to see fabulous poses though
Jojo ain’t Jojo without posing, and lots of it, specially in awkward angles that seem really uncomfortable.
I spent all night in my dreams last night thinking of ideas for this game haha. I really hope someone on the team is working to get unique playstyles/characters in the game. Capcom’s JoJo fighter was such a good example of being able to do that.
I really want to see Killer Queen with like a fist of the north star fatal ko death counter with Another One Bites the Dust. let the counter go to zero, and you automatically die. it would also be good to see Sheer Heart Attack as a little remote projectile that you could activate/program.
Buccellati is my boy, and he needs some goddamn representation. he could warp by zippering underneath the ground, debuff the opponent by zipping off a body part, trap the opponent with a zipper from the ground (ala PS2 golden wind game) and of course, ARIARIARI that shit down. what would be perfect is if he had a lv 3 super or a move he could activate when he was low on health called Sleeping Slaves, where he gets a timer and gains like super armor for the duration, but dies/loses automatically at the end of it unless he KOs the opponent. y’all know what I’m talking about.
the game totally needs a hardcore zoning/projectile character too. honestly, if they just lifted hol horse’s moveset from the arcade game, I would love it. Mista or Johnny would be perfect (preferably Mistaaaaa).
hopefully Jolyene will be like Kakyouin from the arcade game. I wanna see them traps with Stone Free!
Mista would be better as Venom(GG) copy than a Hol Horse copy.

For fun I’m going to list some characters that I hope get in, or that I think may have a chance (not main protagonists and antagonists though)
Part 1:Zeppelli would work, as well as the two knights. Speedwagon may work(might have to work harder on him though).Maybe Jack the ripper. Honestly part 1 has less combat able characters than the others
Part 2: Any of the pillar men, lisa lisa, ceaser, stronheim, vampire squirrels
Part 3: Any of the main team, vanilla ice, hol horse (maybe with j.geil), Petshop (not actually deserving, but i fell in love with the character after reading that fight, so personal choice),
Part 4:Considering how large the team gets i’ll narrow it down to koichi,okyasu, and possibly fatty/koichi’s stalker. Red hot chili peppers, okyasu’s brother. You know the fights were awesome in that, but very few of those stands could translate easily into a game, so any they could would work
Part 5: Any part of the main group, rissoto, ghiaccio, a tag team of prosciutto and pesci,or a tag team of cioccolatta and secco,and pretty much anyone but a few (like B.I.G) since a lot would work from this one
Part 6: Again the main group (especially weather report), and I would love to see a moveset made out of Bohemian Rhapsody, Lang Wrangler
Part 7:** Raptor Dio,** soundman, blackmore, mountain tim, hot pants, wekapipo

Santana’s not worth being included but Kars and AC/DC will probably be a given
All Heritage characters should be included except for Khan and New Kakyoin 'cos…meh
I honestly can’t see Risotto working but it’d be nice to see CC2 try.

have fun with that… SBR is definitely the weakest arc of the entire series. you can count the number of good fights in it on one hand. Araki had some interesting ideas going in and ones that cropped up, but he kept switching the focus around over and over so it never coalesced well. beautiful art though. part 8 already has me hooked.
4 and 6 are sooo good though.
