JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle confirmed by Bandai-Namco

Ok, so the one guy who mentioned that you can mash PB’s Dio’s health or meter drain specials. How do you do it? I’ve tried mashing S or the other attack buttons, but that didnt work.

Its a meterless burst, but its kinda meh. I imagine it still has its uses for getting out of some combos though.

Mostly been following this game out of curiosity as a JoJo fan (as I likely won’t ever actually be able to play the thing, don’t have a ps3 or the type of income to buy one sadly but thus is life) as it is the first time most of these characters have ever appeared in any media outside the manga, and I have to say they seem to have done a great job in portraying the characters and all the little details (such as the unique reactions to certain supers). It’s got my fanboy approval, and it has been nice to see the characters in motion with voices etc.

He does it on the ice moves I believe, just press S for health grab, or HCF+S or something for meter drain

An update that balances the battle system will be released on 9/10.

Any practical uses for Jotaro’s Inhale and Exhale specials?

Thats not a puttsun cancel, its a stand rush cancel. While your stand is active, certain moves can be stand rush cancelled by pressing the style button. Your character will flash grey and detatch from thier stand, allowing them to start a new attack while the stand finish its last move. i believe the meter cost is 25%

I hope if they make character changes, they improve the range on Kira’s primary bomb. then he’d be able to do stand rush combos with it and not just on horsies :frowning:

of course and also make DIO’s burst less stupid…

and a whole bunch of other stuff, but I don’t want to get my hopes up in case it’s just for getting rid of the infinites.

A buff to Rohan’s range or making his command grabs a bit faster would be nice :stuck_out_tongue: But yea, fixing the broken stuff takes priority I think. Can’t wait for the 5 minute charges, I’ve gotten almost all the unlockable stuff but at this point it takes forever to take down a boss.

Some weird stuff someone pointed out on Dustloop, sorry if already mentioned/known: "Anyone here familiar with kokiga (コキガ)? It’s basically a repeated 13 input that basically abuses the game’s instant guard system (aka stylish move) that lets you instant guard any attack as long as you have guard meter (you can even cancel your taunt into kokiga!). Currently the only way to deal with this is via throw/command throw. I’ll try to find some videos later and edit this post to include them.

I wonder just how much the core game is going to change to compensate for the system. The freedom of the system is one of the things I like about this game, but I honestly think /something/ that effects all characters is going to have to change, more then likely gravity scaling or something like that.

Regardless, I am mad excited.

Yeah I’m kinda nervous about this patch but we’ll see. Hopefully some of the cooler stuff remains intact. The worse thing you can do by balancing a game is to make it boring.

yeah, I figured kokiga would be a problem. I wish they would just make it so that stylish moves can only be activated by hitting sidestep at the right time. it would punish them a lot more if they did it at the wrong time.

also, they need to make the guard bar like… half as long haha. I think I’ve only seen one almost guard crush in all my time playing, with Wham. defense in this game isn’t like too broken or anything, it just could use some tweaks.

that and make throws do more damage, goddammit. at least 100 pls.

They can be stand rush’d, so thats something. I’ve messed with it before to try setup an ambiguous crossup when stand rush’d from mid-range, so you can kinda use it like Akihiko’s Caesar pull from Persona 4 Arena. It causes a no damage hit stun if they aren’t blocking and works from full screen ignoring any projectiles in the way, so maybe it could be used for anti-projectile tactics too (activate, stand rush, run/jump over projectile opponent launches and punish)?

I wasn’t aware there was an Exhale version of the special though, thought it was just Inhale?

I agree, throw damage is pure arse.

@Planche: Yeah, I think I might’ve been hallucinating lol, he doesn’t seem to have it.

You know, I’m hesitant to see really big system changes, but a buff to throw damage would be sweet.
