Really liked those Polnareff online matches, people’re already getting a feel for the game. Polnareff’s install’s very good. What’s up with that jumping attack Polnareff’s got, seems like it crumples for ages on it. Or is it a command normal/special?
Stand Rushes nets you extension for relatively low cost. Player was also attempting sandwich lockdowns with it, potential for nasty set-ups? Well, you can Stylish Dodge them I suppose.
Three bar Jos2ke combo. I’m noticing a lot of these three bar combos are around 500ish damage, which visually looks like half life. So I guess lifebars are 1000?
so yeah, game just needs some goddamn gravity. I’m surprised there haven’t been any infinite loops involving the hamon users with their projectiles yet…
There’s some rumor that campaign mode is going to be free only for two weeks. Supposedly that’s what all the 1 star reviews are. I have no idea, honestly, though, as I don’t speak the language and almost exclusively will be playing with locals offline.
Yeah, I posted this on today’s story about Jojo after checking it out on Amazon. Was gonna buy it today… not anymore.
People are basically saying that the game works as an exploitative smartphone game. You can skip campaign missions and get new characters by paying money. Apparently (though I can’t confirm) the price is 600 yen per mission going down to 300 later in September. You can buy “stamina” to continue… WTF? Game costs 6000 yen + to buy then there’s all the bullshit DLC.
Also, people are bashing the balance, there are way to many infinites etc.
They’re also saying saying that load times are too long etc. Glad I can wait until the nerd price crash comes to get my copy…
Yes! My order shipped from Play-Asia! I got the Fedex 1-3 day shipping, you think there is any chance of it arriving tomorrow? My order doesn’t seem to have an approx shipping date. Maybe because I live in the boonies (aka Canada)?!
Ahh, I see now, thanks. Apparently it’ll arrive on tuesday. Kinda bummed but hey, at least it’s shipped. Plus it’ll give me more time to soak up all the broke/awesome stuff-
-like this! Hmm it seems like all the 500+ damage combos are coming from exhausting all of your meter. I wonder if we’ll see some combos and juggle break or come close to 500 without using all three. Also, does it seem like level 1 and 3 supers don’t have much damage scaling? I wonde if they scale minium of 50% of their base damage like it was in Vanilla MvC3.
I’ve been wondering, do we have any more solid source on this (2ch, GAF)? I’ve been searching the internet all day and can’t seem to find anything on this.
So. I bought the game first day and was playing it until now. So I didn’t read any review and all those kinds of things.
Maybe I will give my impression on this game a little bit. (I am NOT a good fighting game player, I just play fighting game casually with my friends. It’s my favorite genre though?)
(Before reading this, I can assure that I will be very bias because I am a JoJo Fan inside my heart. And well, I’ve only played this game for like 10 hours, so there is a chance that after I played some more matches my opinion will be change)
So… What should I start from. Maybe I would like to talk about the Graphics first.
The Graphics of the game is undeniable, seriously, every Cyber Connect 2 games are like that. Their Graphics team is SOOOOO GREAT with their Anime Rendering that just like their Naruto Ultimate Storm series, when you are playing the game all those graphics and the actions of the characters all makes you feel that you were watching a very high quality 3D anime. (HELL, When I play Naruto Storm I thought that I didn’t even need to watch Anime Naruto anymore because the game’s graphics is much cooler than that ****!!)
All the moves, All the stages and all those special costumes that the creator designed all resemble the manga so well. (I almost scream when I succeed to cancel the Road Roller move of the DIO using Jotaro, IT’S HELLA CRAZY)
However, when I play the Story Mode, I was kinda sad that they didn’t made the CG movies to show us what happened, but instead just put up a bunch of text and ask a Voice Actor to describe what is going on. Well, I can read Japanese so it didn’t bother me that much, but I can’t deny that I was pretty upset that CC2 didn’t put the CG in the games like Naruto Games in the PS3… (Maybe they put too much effort in the voice acting, I’m looking at you, Joseph Joestar)
About System, I can see why before the game release they weren’t a lot of competitive videos about this game.
It is definitely not a game for competitive plays. AGAIN, THIS GAME IS DEFINITELY NOT FOR COMPETITIVE PLAYS!! Maybe I should talk about the game system by comparing with some other fighting games.
When I played my first match, the very first impression I got is the similarities between this and Persona 4 Ultimate Arena because of One-Button Combo. Okay, you guys can say that P4A is a competitive game and the system of P4A is more than just one button smashing blah blah blah. But the point I wanted to say here is that it is a worse system compare to P4A. I don’t know how to describe it, but I find it kinda lame that while there are 34 characters (including all those DLC), the difference among them are quite small compare to other fighting games. Okay, there is Ripples, Mode, Stands and lots more, but if I need to sort them into something like Zoner, Rushdown or Grappler and all those, I can say that Most of the characters can be sorted in to one category. That’s what I felt. (Except some obviously different characters like Pucchi and probably Yangu?)
But when I think of this, I was thinking the CC2 goal of making this game is to appeal this game to non-fighter but more to JoJo Fans and all those light users who doesn’t play fighting game that much, that’s why they made the system in this way so that the new users can get in quickly and the skill difference between Intermediate players and Newbie to be not so high?
Lastly, I would like to talk about Campaign mode.
So… I am sure that Bandai Namco Games definitely got in love with the mobiles games genre that THEY WANT TO MAKE EVERY GAMES OF THEIRS TO BECOME LIKE THEIR MOBILE GAMES. I think it is a dumb way to unlock my customize parts in this game, I’ve played this game for 10 hours now and all I got is a Special Costume of Jolyne and extra lines of some characters like Caesar and Gyro. If you don’t pay money and wants to get all the customize stuffs, I assure you that it will take A LOOOOOOOT OF TIMES to do that. (And I think it is a strategy for them to keep the players keeps the game for a long time. Which in my opinion… is stupid…VERY STUPID…)
P.S.: English is my second language, so there might be a lot of grammatical errors and stuffs. TAT
P.S.2: Despite I hate the Campaign mode, I’m still playing it because I WANT MY JONATHAN’S SPECIAL COSTUMES SO BADLY!!!
