I’m not mashing per sey. Button on my stick is very sensitive, it’s easy to accidentally push it more than I think in the heat of a match.
LOL. Yo, I find it too easy to mash that move. Plus, it juggles on knockdown. Won’t be surprised if anyone decides to abuse that move online.
…not that it’s super gdlk or anything…
Yeah so when I first got this game I thought I was going to main Tao, but after getting annihilated by a Nu player my very first match :bluu: I decided to explore other characters and found Jin. He’s so much fun and he fits my style. One of my favorite combos is 4B+C -> 236D -> dash up -> 9 -> C -> 9 -> C -> D -> 214C. Obviously the 214C goes black but I need to work on my timing to land the B. I also could probably do B -> C -> 9 -> B -> C -> 214B but I’m still learning. If you catch me on PSN hit me up, I need all the practice I can get. I’ll be rocking that cold ice blue Jin. :bgrin:
I haven’t been online yet. Who are the few most popular characters? I hope its not Jin.
Here is a combo web site I found. I use them all the time and they are in some way a very unique collection of combos:

I hope you guys find this web site useful. wtb pos rep >.>
yo anyone got a better follow up for air to air b,c besides land dp b? i.e. i iad b,c they get hit but i don’t have time to do a d for a freeze.
If you are not IAD then depending on the distance and height you can jump cancel and do j.b, j.c, j.d->B Ice Car. If you IAD I don’t think there are any options to follow up from mid screen. If you are close to the corner when the fubuki lands you can do 5c, 6c, 6d->any combo ender. Alternatively, you could probably do the fast super that goes full screen after fubuki.
I’m not using C mash unless I land a CH 6A that’s the only use for it, imo. It has decent priority but it’s asking for punishment.
Man, I don’t know why but I have so troubles with the Jin mirror match. When I know the other player has the same understanding of Jin as I do I freeze too much because I know what Jin is capable of. Need more confidence and experience in that match up.
Arakune and Litchi match ups are putting me in a rage at the moment. Arakune for obvious reasons and Litchi is pretty rough if she lands a counter hit on you.
Got some more Arakune match up experience today. I came out on top in the end but it was a really good experience.
Most of Arakune set ups and overall game keeps him in the air. Jin eats these alive with Fubuki’s so keep within Fubuki range and keep an eye on Arakune any air setups or rushes will net you a Fubuki and a CH Fubuki most of the time. Arakune hovering right above you? C Fubuki through that shit and close the gap. B Fubuki works great on Arakune’s low attack that comes from behind and curses you. The invincibility frames happen in the middle of the Fubuki rather than at the beginning so you will CH Arakune and the low attack will go right through Jin.
Jin’s Ice Wave super will also stuff those air shenanigans or even ground tactics but be careful because if you get hit during the animation the super will fail to come out. If you are cursed this is worst part about the match and it will happen for sure. Barrier Block and keep an eye on Arakune for what he’s doing so you can time your jumps to avoid low attacks. If the screen is relatively free of clutter than A Ice Car to get in close or if you see an opening B/C Ice Car to land a hit. If he blocks the B/C Ice Car Rapid Cancel and apply pressure. Don’t air dash like an idiot because you will eat 1 of Arakune’s many dominating projectiles and will take big combo damage from it. If you see Arakune doing something that keeps him open for a while then Ice Wave his ass and get in close. The number one thing you want to do is stick to Arakune as much as possible and don’t give him the chance to set up his games. If he dominates the pacing then the match is done for you.
i totally agree i was going try learn tao… that didn’t work out so well. then i just tried jin for the hell of it, and i was shocked how many tools he has.
really too soon i fought rag/ noel/ arakuna/bang mosty, have yet seen a carl
For those of you fighting against Ultimate Ragna in Score Attack mode, you can spam Jin’s air 236 C. and Ragna LOVES to run right into it.
Good Luck. He’s still a pain.
Never has a game made me come this close to ripping out my eyes and punching myself in the face.
Do any of you guys have any good rapid cancel setups?
The only time I’m using it is if they block 214A. Rapid into a throw 214A C 2C 214B.
I usually Rapid Cancel unsafe moves like C Fubuki or B/C Ice Car. Mostly trying to bait something out or if I screw up the timing. However, you can Rapid Cancel the first hit of a B/C Ice Car at the end of a combo and then air dash into jb, jc, ice car.
Anyone else noticing a sudden influx of Arakune players? Seems like 30% of the time I run into him and my above strategies have been panning out so far.
Im wondering, what the hell is dp D used for? I know it can corner loop some characters, but I’ve yet to find a practical use for it. As anti air the 2nd hit misses and the second part has no invincibility so far as I can see.
And yeah you can rapid 214B/C into an air dash as well. I also rapid cancel j.D sometimes.
Alright I found out something I think, “think” few to no one know about as I “discovered” it last night accidentally with Jin in training mode. So here it is:
Apparently Jin can gatling/combo “5d” without the use of a counter hit. So here is how it works.
You combo into 3c (sweep them) and then 2b,5c,5d and this actually works in the corner and out. I’ve only tested it on Ragna mind you but it is a very pleasant surprise as you can immediately dash cancel 5d into whatever stupidity you wish.
IF you have seen this before then cool whatever, but I haven’t seen it in any vids or online matches and I believe it’s fairly new territory. I’ll be sharing it on Dustloop as well.
dp D is extremely quick and has invincibility frames upon start up so it works great after IB. Plus, as you are already aware in the corner it leads into a combo and is great when you’ve got the pressure going. Typically, if I have a lot of heat to use and looking to finish off my opponent I’ll follow up with 6C, dash cancel 5c, j,c, j.c, D Ice Car, land, 2.C, throw, 236 D, dash 6c.
Keep in mind that it can also be used to stuff baited Bursts as the beginning of the D Fubuki will whiff but the burst will go right through you and then the second hit will nail your opponent. Again if you are close to the corner dash into 6c for major hurt.
It should also stuff IAD attempts and you should still get the 2nd hit in if you just hold D longer.
^^^gooooooooood shit i will be testing this out more at work since it will be a slow sunday.
Good stuff. After the 5c you can also go with sjc, j.b, j.c, jc, dj.b, dj.c, dj.d, ice car.
i also found out i mean it prorates to all shit but for clutch situations Jin can land super off of 5a/2a :looney:
must be hella fast you can also hit confirm with more 5a’s but ofcourse it will prorate even more. Does 1100 or about 1000 if you do four. Again not something youd use normally but if you just so happen to land a 2a/5a and there low on health (esp when in life bar in danger) and about to die its always an option.
edit
after the super you can run up and combo for some good damage. ending clutch rounds off jab jab super? lol
Shall test immediately.
Which super?
