I have NEVER gotten grenade launcher to fully connect after landmine. I gave it a try when I was testing out everything and as usual it didnt work. Im not sure what I’m doing wrong, does the mine have to be a little away from the opponent so they dont fall onto it or does it matter?
I was 50/50 and it might be body specific now that I think about it. Pretty much after landing in the corner otg and call rocks at the same time and cancel into mine as quickly as possible then grenade launcher a second later. It definitely works but it might be hard to get it consistent. Just thought I’d point out it’s possible.
Which team? My OG Chris,haggs, Doom with Missiles. Chris, haggs, strider. Or Chris, Doom molecular shield, strider?
Regardless, I shoulda have reworded what I said about the htc. It’s not that I dislike sphere flame, it’s just that I’ve gotten so used to photon array that I instinctively expect it, haha.
Mind telling me what you were doing with my team to pull that damage off? It’ll give me a better basis to think about new combo pathways at least.
Sorry , Hmmm I have a long time without checking out the Chris Forums in general but… are you looking for combos or way to deal more damage?
I’m running now Chris-Haggar-Doom(Missiles) *Had to change it because my past team was getting lamed out over and over again (it was wesker with the samurai Edge assist as anchor) … okay.
With that team you can apply more pressure when zoning opponents and deal better against zoners like when wesker starts Superjumping and samurai edge till the end of times, or characters like that … I’ve seen a couple of combos with Chris using Doom’s missiles as extensions as well as Haggar combos using missiles.
Actually I was using Chris, Haggar, doom rocks. For some reason I forgot you weren’t using that team. I did a couple more using the Chris/doom(rocks)/strider team. I did them using the same idea I had when I did them the first time. Hopefully this gives you some ideas. One thing to note if you aleady didnt know, depending on if you dash back, dash forward, or dont move your damage and follow ups will be different.
Thanks, bud. These have given me some new ideas for sure. I already knew about spacing before the THC affecting how well things worked during and after it, I just haven’t nabbed it up much to help determine what works best.
Off topic but my gold sub ran out a day or two ago so if you want to run any more sets for awhile it’ll have to be on Pan.

Hmmm I actually don’t think there are any matches of me using that team. I only used it in a handful of tournaments and I lost everytime before getting on stream. I thought of doing a combo video with that team but I lack the technology and time for it.
I use Chris/Doom/Strider now. Such a sellout.
Aww damn. I’m just picking up chris and I’m playing Dorm/Dante (and will probably sprinkle in some bolts since my main team is currently Dorm/Strange/Dante), but I can’t seem to make any good extensions with dark hole assist.
Is there anything you found out from the chris side of things that I can potentially use, or even just a good extension with those assists? I’m found some things using chris assist with both dorm/dante but I’m having trouble to come up with chris stuff since I never have played him before.
Both dark hole and jam session function the same way for Chris in neutral. Call it to nullify stuff or create a barrier, then go in or use the time to throw a grenade. They also both serve as the “in between” assist for Chris combos. After you relaunch and get the opponent in the corner, call assist + otg (for jam session it’s usually jump + smg, for dark hole it’s down + h but spacing is required so the hole won’t miss in the corner), flamethrower then launch and s to knock back down for falling magnum flamethrower. Not much else you can do with those for extensions, they don’t really last long enough for a grenade launcher combo. If you have an assist leftover you could DHC from sweep combo to stalking flare and do some stuff on top of that…try a Chris combo with dark hole and when you dhc to dorm charge spells then call jam session and see if the meteor shower spell can continue the combo. I think the opponent might get sent too high for it to work but I’m thinking it has a chance. If it works, that’s your BnB.
I was trying to find out a way to get in flamethrower with dark hole and didn’t think it was possible, but I got it to work. All I wanted was something that could build 2 meters and that works flawlessly with both assists.
you can also get a grenade launcher with jam session, only problem is that you have to do it relatively early on in the bombo, like after the first air series.
on a side note, anyone know any extensions for chris/ vergil
If in corner after first launch - Call rapid slash + OTG cancel to m grenade, flamethrower, let go right before when grenade hits, wait for body to fall slightly, flamethrower into launch, S This extension can also be done after two H boulder punches, but not if you throw in a magnum shot in between. Experiment.
If going for relaunch - jump SMG, launch + call rapid slash, H S, rapid slash should bounce up, falling S, landmine then cr. L to blow up, launch, S Will not work from corner to corner but gets pretty close to it
This is the best I could get from messing around a couple months ago. If you used a relaunch in order to get to the corner then you can’t use rapid slash at that point. You can do basic extensions with the projectile assist but rapid slash is better to have. You get an easy corner incoming mixup by just calling the slash then super jumping towards the corner. DHC into vergil does decent damage but loses potential based on how many bounces you have remaining. For Chris you’re going to always use ground bounce, so forget about trying to keep that.

That’s pretty early in the combo and there might be an issue with opponent body type. The first extension I mentioned will do around the same damage and give more meter, I believe.
After watching a lot of smbrwnkid sp* matches he has restored my faith in the Dante/Akuma shell which I have always wanted to attach to my Chris. Very few if any Chris players run Tatsu but it is extremely helpful for him. I think since doom is such a popular 2nd (for good reason) akuma is dispatched as a possible anchor. Just curious on the forums thoughts on Chris/Dante/Akuma and its viability not only in concept but against some of the top tier teams/characters. Chris is constantly in need of a gtfo assist and Haggar is typically the choice but IMO tatsu is a mobile lariat attached to a much better anchor. I would rather play anchor Akuma behind Chris and Dante then Haggar with only one assist or worse yet anchor Haggar. These are just my thoughts on the team, hopefully someone else will chime in whether it’s in support or in complete disagreement it still will be helpful. Thanks guys!!
Has anyone ever tried to get Strange’s FoF loop using Chris? I’ve been trying this duo for a while and a DHC to seven rings after the magnum shot leaves enough to link impact palm, S with Strange and maybe get a loop going. Problem is after the launch the opponent techs after the first fireball so either scaling is an issue or my execution is ass (execution is ass) but I was wondering if other people have tried this?
