no, he just whiffs and crosses up. Dammit… i don’t like using the whiff c.mp after slide press against sagat because he can block the j.hk and reversal tiger uppercut before you can block string him with lp. c.mp is only good if you know he’s going to wakeup reversal.

Can uncrouchable Oil Dive setups be backdashed, as a general rule? Will they beat most DPs or at least make them whiff? If not, can you delay the dive to make it catch the DP?

Yeah, they can be backdashed. There are setups referred to as SS Oil Dives, which will catch DPs as well as being uncrouchable, but they’re a little harder to do. But yeah totally, you could delay it and catch the DP.
The unblockable certainly will change that matchup, for those who know about it anyway. Such a tough one for Hakan.

1 effective setup they use is:
[ dive (into corner) > lp.sliding > j.hk ]
-i think the j.hk is a safe cross up and then lands in front. ( just like magos fei j.mp setup)

Oh yeah I’ve seen an arcade Hakan do this, works really well in the left corner. I don’t think it hits meaty so the opponent can jump out, but I’m not sure if you’ll get hit with reversal DP. Needs testing.
is that seth set up specifically when you’re un-oiled?
Yeah. Doesn’t work when you’re oiled, you’ll just jump over his head.
That makes oiling up against him a little less important then…

Yeah definitely, all you need is one unoiled knockdown and you can keep looping this over and over. He can teleport but that gets punished easily.
Yeah, I’m Scotlands only representation of Hakan, haha. To be honest, the UK in general has very few Hakan players, and the guys who do you use him aren’t taking him to the next level. I honestly feel like I’m out on my own if you know what I mean. I need more people to step up.
