Umemone was in the ABC team that played Beat-Tribe in the other semi-finals.
I always thought the Elena dude’s name was Umekado…so are you saying he IS the one Elena in SBO this year? Cool!

Team Nebraska = Izu/KSK/Chikyuu. I’m assuming the name comes from the fact that they all went to Nebraska for the N-Cubed tournament.
And no, none of Oro’s unblockables work on DC. SA2 is useless on console, always pick tengu stone.

I don’t know if you would remember but I was the black kid with the black hat who you played against in 3s. It was both our first match I believe. I was using Ken, and our match went down to the wire. I won 2-1 in the final round:o Your Oro was tight though. You had me on my toes the whole battle.

Who is the purple Ken that anchored TK’s team in Coopcup2
Im not sure whatever happened to chemuru. Theres a lot of great players that seemed to have moved on from the 3s scene, or at least aren’t participating in the majors as much as they used to. One of my personal favorites was “Hikone Ken” from the 2nd International 3on3. Of all the Japanese players I’ve talked to, almost everyone said he had the best Ken during his prime. For those that don’t remember he was the blue Ken player in that tournament. IIRC his team took 1st in what was a 500 man 3on3 tournament.
I’ll take a look at the 2nd coop today and see who that purple ken was. I never get sick of watching that tournament.
Speaking of Coop Cup’s, those things are open to everyone. If America could come up with the funds and a 5-man team, we could also be competting in those.
Whoa, what are the details on this (when, where, etc.)? Fairly new to the 3s scene, so never heard about it.

It was Sooma, whom some of you probably recognize from Kyushu Taikai (he was on 178 and Sawaguchi’s team, which got 2nd). He also of course was on the winning team in 3rd Coop Cup. If not quite a “top-tier” Ken, he is the next best thing IMHO.

Izu says Hikone still plays but uses Akuma now. He told me he thought Hikone had the #1 Akuma in Japan now in his opinion. His Ken was already ridiculously good in that G-Up tournament, he completely dominated Chuns in the finals. Josh, you can find the files from the 3on3 tournament in the GoForBroke hub but I forgot their Japanese name. They were ripped sometime last year.

haunts: Actually, FWIW, K.O/Boss’s teams haven’t won any of the national tournaments I’ve seen, although they have always placed high.
In 1st Coop Cup, their crew got 2nd and lost to Tokido’s team.
In 2nd Coop Cup, both K.O’s and Boss’s teams lost in quarterfinals.
In SBO1, their team tied for 3rd and lost to Izu.
In 3rd Coop Cup, their team (which was their SBO2 team plsu Match and Pierre) lost in quarters to a team with only one high-tier character.
Basically, don’t assume it’s in the bag for them by any means…especially considering that Nuki’s been concentrating more on VF4 lately (he’s EASILY Japan’s best Aoi). I’m thinking this one will be more of the same for them, but we’ll see.

I will say one thing for KO/Boss and that is, they are very consistant in placing top 3. Beat-Tribe is probably the only other group of players I can think of right now that yeild similar results in major tournaments.
but there’s something to be said for the “random” team that comes out of nowhere. Coop3 was said to be a huge upset.
