JAPAN THREAD 2010: Let's do this ish!

Yo!

Moved from Sweden to Japan and been here for a month and a few days. Still havent found any guys to play with(be it arcade or home), well except for one or two guys at my guesthouse. Living in Kitatoda(Saitama).

Anyway, BBCT/CS player here so if anyone wanna spar sometime, arcade, home or psn, I am up for it!

So… my roommate and I will be in Japan from May 24th until July 1st. I guess first, I was wondering if anybody in Japan wanted to meet up and hang out or something. Just let us know! Second, more importantly, how would we go about playing Super in Japan? Arcades aren’t available obviously. Are we stuck with just online play or do some arcades put consoles out to play on?

I live like right next to Yokohama station. I’m no stranger to Japan/Kanto/Tokyo but I’m new to Yokohama. Any arcade recommends (FG listings and ‘hot spots’) in this area?

near yokohama station, i only know seven islands and pasopiard, though ive only been there liek twice? lol but yeah you can always search online for directions (assumin you can read japanese)

or just walk around the area…

hey whats up everybody
im living in okinawa now and was planning on visiting the tokyo area for a week in about a month from now.
i was wondering if anybody would have time to show me around?

Me and my roommate will be leaving to go to Tokyo tomorrow. We probably wouldn’t be very good tour guides, but if you want to meet up to play some SF, let us know. The invite goes to anybody who’s currently in Japan. Want to meet up and hang out?

What’s up fellas, just landed in Tokyo yesterday and will be here for 5 weeks with a week in Kyoto. I’m staying at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center by Yoyogi Park. Hopefully I can meet up with you guys some time and get some matches in, as I’m seriously looking to level up my game.

what is this national olympic memorial youth center? is it free? is it cheap? can i stay there if im not so youthful?

Let me know when you swing by Kyoto

I’m actually not sure. I came with my school via study abroad so I’m not too certain how they managed to book the rooms.

I’ll be in Kyoto in 3 weeks!

GGs to Token 686 and his boys yesterday. Always nice to get local games on this side of the world.

We’re gonna be in Japan within 18 hours. Anybody want to meet up within the next few days?

Shout out to you too man, good matches

is there anybody near nerima-ward area that wanna get some game in? anybody know the closest arcade around this area of Tokyo?

Thanks

There are a couple other places scattered in random arcades around Yokohama station, but they really aren’t worth it to go to. Almost all of them are 100 yen a pop, and you only find random scrubs playing there.

Seven Island is the best place to go, IMO. Pasopiard has some good comp and a lot of machines, but it sucks paying 100 yen every time. Or have they finally changed it? Last time I was there was January, and it was still 100 yen.

I’m in the Yokosuka area. Anyone know of any local games or good arcades to play at.

Last summer I visited Japan for a few months and traveled from Tokyo to Fukuoka and all points in between. Along my journey, I stopped by Monty 50 in Oosaka for a few nights and met some of the coolest players ever. One in particular was a T6 Raven player named Takeshi, or HIFANA on his T6 card.

I plan to visit again for a month this summer, and I was wondering does anyone know if the same group of T6 players still hang out there? Namely Tissuemon, MainStreet Ryu and HIFANA?

Yo Reno,
I may head to Osaka this october if all goes well.
My school will be up in shinsaibashi.
Where in Osaka can I play sf4 and Blazblue? I looked up Monte50
But their site doesn’t say anything about sf4.

You can play Blazblue at Monte 50, or at Kohatsu in Minami-morimachi, or at Athena in Namba. Those are probably the best places to go I guess. For SF4 you’ll probably have to go to Taito Station or Sega Avion in Namba to play, although not too many people are playing now because of SSF4.

Thanks man.
Well by the time I get over there I’m hoping the arcade version will have been released
I plan to get my friend to record my every match while I’m over there. So I hope to do some Sabin training over at these local arcades LOL
If you’re not too busy I’ll definitely try to hook up with you on some point when I arrive. How long have you been over there? I’m planning to get myself a part time job so I can pay for this addiction. Which reminds me how much are credits over at Avion?
