I’ma be in Tokyo for July and August learning more Japanese so lemme know whats going down, I’m gonna try and visit Gamer Vision If I can find it.
Some guys and I are planning on coming through in november. Prob coming to yakota AB. Just how expensive are hotels? we only plan on staying a week and if its too much there always base billeting.
I’m in Nagoya, and will be in nagano soon.
i’ve been looking for places to play cvs2, found two places in sakae but no competition. am i gonig at the wrong hours? or does just no one play cvs2 anymore. it’s all t5
I’m going to be stopping over in Tokyo for 3 days before heading over to Shanghai. I’ll be staying in Shinjuku and I plan on hitting up Akiharabara. I’ll also be going to Asakusa and Ginza. What is a really good Arcade to hit while I am there? I’m going to assume that the best one will be in Akiba.
And while I’m at it. how will I be able to get along in Japan when I’ve only had about
ni tsuki no Nihon-go?
Boku wa Nihon-go hete desu.
You should try MORE in shinjuku! the comp is high and the games are cheap.
MORE in Shinjuku just died last month…
They replaced most of the 2D games by fuckin’ 3D shit and 1 play is now 100yen. (used to be 50yen)…
The fighting games floor is just empty. I think most of the players moved to Shibuya, the arcade in Senta-Gai (I am not sure about the name…) next to the Puricura local on the left if you are comming from the station.
That sucks, I only been to MORE a few times and now Marvel is gone!
Is there any place where there is Marvel machines still left to play in Tokyo area??
Shinjuku station (South Exit) Club sega The have marvel there and people play!
Damn, I need to try and get up with you guys. I live in Fussa and it’s about 45 min away from shinjuku. I’m off this weekend and aint doing shit, so if yall are gonna get into something then let me know.
ONEZ
Hell yeah! Can you only come up on the weekends?
Did you go to Club Sega yet? I’ll be on Saturday Night prolly. But we all need meet up one day!
I’m going to Akihabara and Shinjuku today? Does anyone else want to join me? Akihabara first then Shinjuku?
PM me please.
I’m in Tokyo now and am here till Sunday morning. What’s the best arcade for CVS2 competition, and how do I get there?
Where are you at now? if your near Shinjuku either More or Club Sega. But since the price jack at MORE. I think Club Sega is your best bet! Shinjuku South exit!
Sorry I didn’t replay back to you. I’m sure you remember when SRK’s front page was down. So I thought that SRK was down alltogether for about a week. Then a friend of minds linked me post and I saw that the forums were still up. By then, the weekend was over, sorry about that. Hope you all still had a good time none the less. I would come out this weekend, but I’ve been voluntold to participate in a food drive most of saturday. If it doesn’t happen, I’ll get back to you for sure and let you know what sup.

I’m staying in Akasaka-mitsuke (sp?) on the Ginza line. Thanks for the advice. How about in Shibuya?
Hey Adebisi, what’s up ?
This is ADM speaking.
Shinjuku’s MORE is over now.Only one cvs2 cabinet left and this is 100 yens.No more competitions there.
The most competitive place for cvs2 now is Shibuya’s Kankai.
Go out from Shibuya JR station (Hachiko exit), then cross the big road and walk to the HMV.You will see the game center on the left.
The cvs2 cabinets are downstair.
You can find good players on the Club Sega game center from Akihabara as well ( Otaku is training there ).
Enjoy.
Yo’ we all need to meet up one day soon. My football season is over now. I’ll be in Shinjuku a lot more now. But I’m also interested in having a Friday night session at my place. But I just moved out to Kotesashi on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. Which is about 20 minutes from Ikebukuro by RED ARROW super express.
Here is a list of games I play and will play!
Fighting: SF3/Soul Calibur/TEKKEN/SMASH (N64)/Project Justice/A3/MVC2/KOF MI2/ Jump Super Stars/ Naruto / DOA4
1st Person Shooter: Halo
Sports: Madden (But I suck)/ Tecmo Bowl (I RULE!)
Party: Bomberman (Saturn Version)
Racing: Ridge Racer / Mariokart
My friends!
I’ll be spending a month or so in Japan starting the beginning of January. A friend of mine lives on Awaji Island and she says I can crash at her place. I’ll be travelling around and staying a few days in the major cities (Tokyo, Kyoto) sightseeing and stuff… but I want to get my game on. I want to have my American Spirit crushed by fighting the Japanese.
So a few quick questions since it seems like some people are in/have been to Japan.
-
I don’t need any sort of Visa or anything do I? I spend about 8-9 months of the year in Iraq and I’m just trying to get my 330 days out of the US for my fat tax break. As such I’m pretty much coming home from here, spending Christmas with my family, then heading to Japan. I have a passport (obviously) and money isn’t an issue.
-
I’ve been told it’s cold there. How cold is it exactly? I’ve spent the last year in a desert paradise (sarcasm) and I’m not quite sure how to pack for the weather.
-
Upon arrival in Japan will I be issued my giant robot or will I have to obtain it on my own? Do I get to keep it when I leave or will I be forced to leave it behind? If no giant robots are available, will I recieve a magical katana or other such artifact in it’s place?
-
How far is Awaji Island from everything? I honestly have no idea where it is and have been unsuccessful in contacting my friend for more information (she teaches English through JET I believe and says she has to travel sometimes). She did mention that trains are fast here and I could be pretty much anywhere in the country in a few hours.
-
I take it people mostly play arcades? Would I even need to pack my arcade stick(s) (I play on Sanwas so I assume I’ll adapt fine to the local arcade machines). Also, do the arcades use square or ocatagonal gates on their sticks?
-
Is the Wii region coded? I’m loving my japanese DS due to it’s non-region-codedness and might pick up a Wii when over there for the neato japaneseses games.
-
Where is the best place to hang out and play games? I don’t mind learning from the Japanese but my Japanese (language) is horrible… All I know is stuff I learned from games. So if I want to fight someone I know all the shit to say, but if I want something to eat I’m pretty fucked.
-
Girls Girls Girls: Will I be getting mad ladies due to my Americaness?
Thanks for the help guys. Maybe I’ll get to stop by and meet you guys hanging out in the Land of the Rising Sun.
I’ve just moved to Japan (Atsugi, about hour and some change from Tokyo by train), and was wondering, can anyone tell me what the best acrades in Tokyo, or anywhere in the vicinity are?
I’m a 3s player if that helps narrow down the list, but I’ll take as many as you guys will give me.
Thnx:)
Faight, do you play 3s? If you do, I’d be up for some 3s if you’re ever in the Tokyo area. Let me know:)
