I can personally attest his Bison is no joke. I’ve played him before and he gave me quite a fight, beating me a few times. And no, this wasn’t as part of the streak either.

Actually i’m not really a fan of latif but he is a very good player.
The only good part about this win gifting bullshit is you will see latif throw down the gauntlet to end this for good.

I’ve played Jakob at a tournament… it was a long time ago, but he was very good then, and I’m sure he’s even better now.
Is Jakob deserving of having the top streak? Absolutely. Did he get plenty of easy wins? Of COURSE he did. How else do you think someone is going to set the streak record? No one is going to break it by playing the toughest competition available online. If you got a bunch of the top online players and put them all in the room, there’s no way Jakob nor anyone else, including any of said top players, would come even close to 115. It’s not possible to win that many games in a row against the best players. That said, I’m sure he played against several really great players and a whole bunch of not amazing but solid players, and he won 115 straight games. I’m sure he did clutch out a lot of wins with smart, gutsy play and I’m sure he also got lucky a few times. It’s quite difficult to win 115 straight games against even very mediocre players provided they know how to uppercut and/or throw and/or Ultra at anything other than the most stupid of times.
Any reasonable person could tell you that the following conditions are by far the most likely to result in a record:
- average to preferably below average competition in the room (this does not mean the players are terrible - just not the very best players who are going to take a shot/ever go to the room)
- one very good player who stays very focused for a very long time, doesn’t panic under pressure, can adapt to a variety of play styles/characters, preferably plays a fairly well-rounded character without a lot of bad match-ups and who can’t be blown up by any particular tactic (characters like Dhalsim, who can easily lose two rounds in a row by being knocked down once per round by Akuma, or Seth, whose low HP makes it too easy for him to an entire round with one or two wrong guesses or slight technical mistakes, are at a severe disadvantage when it comes to a win streak competition).
I could perhaps see a very obscure character doing well. Guy, Adon, Gen, Hawk, El Fuerte… those guys have a lot of mix-ups that most people don’t know. But Dictator seems like the perfect character. He’s solid all around, doesn’t have many (any?) bad match-ups. He can be played very defensively with a strong poking/zoning game but also has plenty of mix-ups, a great cross-up, a sick dash that’s tough to react to online… And Jakob definitely seemed like a very intensely focused, resilient player when I saw and played him at that tournament.
So yeah… that’s how it happened, IMO, coming from someone who wasn’t there and hasn’t seen any video hahaha
Yeah he did play solid and made good reads against me. I’m just salty at all the times he did a full screen ex psycho and my ultra didnt come out. I am king of salt :3

Yeah, his attempted earlier streak of 74 was ended by a flowchart ken, also I don’t see you posting about the “gifted” wins he got during his streak. I didn’t see any top quality players but a lot of c/ c+ ranks during his streak. But I guess that doesn’t matter because its golden boy latifs streak eh?
