I think I was on the stream that night. Got a 7 win streak. Got blown up on stream by a turtle Rog. Whoops. SO totally incognizant of Balrog’s great defense, even against himself
Went 3-2 in SEB. Tied within 17-24 out of 54.
Spek, we still going to Orlando together right? If so, I’ll go ahead and order my bus ticket.
Don’t need one really. Just need a will and good folks who have cars who are willing to ride. Im honestly surprised that Jax players don’t travel more often than they do. Its a shame, really.
So, I’m really sad because I haven’t seen anyone in absolutely forever.
Update: Its a very slim chance ill be going to NEC due to money. I got a job at Gamestop, the one on third street at the beach. Crack ops. I’ve been sitting in the emblem maker more than the game, I’m set on making something amazing. I made a Hadoken motion with the stick but I lost interest like 5 minutes later. I still need to finish recording for the combo video, and I’m dying for some offline Abel.
Only reason why I haven’t traveled much is cause i just found out about the scene, and I’m not really from Jax. But Next year, hopefully when I get this raise(i pray to God I get a decent raise), and get a better handle on finances, Ima be everywhere. Anyone going to PAX East in Boston next year?
man…what a 180 degrees my life has taken over the past couple of weeks. sorry i haven’t been posting much, but i have been checking in on the site.
i signed on to manage a record label and was convinced to come out of retirement as a dj, so a lot of my time and focus has been on that recently. while i still am focusing on SF due to the upcoming tournaments I plan to attend, casuals haven’t really been a priority for me.
with orlando this weekend, NEC two weeks after that, and then another orlando tourney two weeks after NEC…i don’t think I will be able to have any large sessions at my place any time soon. i still have the small gatherings during the week on occasion, but that is it. i know that sucks to hear for a lot of you, but hopefully someone can step up and start having casuals locally at their place.
in addition (more bad news), after the first of the year…i will be taking some time off from SF to put my attention towards the other games I haven’t had time for (ie; fallout, halo reach, etc). i might have something like once a month or so, but i’m not sure at the moment. i’m not totally quitting SF though, so don’t worry about that. Final Round is coming and I still plan on going.
with that being said…i am still online and can be caught there. after this weekend, i will be going back to the PS3 to prepare for NEC, so hit me up on that if you want to get some games in.
Looking forward to having you guys on Saturday. Also after the weekend I don’t mind playing on PSN to help you out Thomas, just say when. My tag is GoogleMyName on PSN as well.
i’m looking forward to it as well. since it is on a saturday, i can actually hangout afterward and party! i’ll def add you on PSN as well.
man…where you been!? i’ve been a dj since '97. I retired about 3 months prior to moving to philly. ive toured all of the east coast and had a weekly night in Jax that i played at for ever. I was resident at the first drum and bass weekly in Florida for it’s entirety and have been a staple in the Jax scene for drum and bass along side a few others. I started playing dubstep as well about 3 years ago when it first came out and thought it wouldn’t last, but I was dead wrong about that. lol. There are 2 weeklies for dubstep in town and I was asked to play at both of them when I went to visit. Plus an old friend of mine is starting a new drum and bass monthly and when he found out I moved back to Jax, he said I had to play and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
How can I turn down sooo many offers? Music has always been my life and my first love.
Nowhere at the beach, but TSI on Sunday nights and Eclipse on Tuesday nights.
TSI has been doing Crunchay Sunday for a while now and Eclipse just started two weeks ago doing Dubsauce. TSI is always packed, but Eclipse is starting to grow. About 200-300 people at TSI vs the 50-60 at Eclipse. Both nights are dedicated to playing only Dubstep as well.
Posted this on my Facebook and putting it here in case some of you never got the news yet.
Well I’m allowed to announce this to the general public in case you didn’t know about Rocky’s Replay’s latest news. They are switching locations again(December 18th tourney which I will be posting next Monday will still be in their current location.) closer to UCF on University and Goldenrod. This is pretty awesome bec…ause they will now have a full bar at the new location and able to sell beer/drinks again. They’ll be fully up in the new location by January.
Also a side note, December 18th Rocky’s tournament will have something special that I can’t really advertise outside of here, it’ll have FREE BEER included with the 10 dollar door fee(Just be sure to tip their server girl.)Oh and 3 dollars in tokens this time.
I really want the december 18th tourney to be something to remember.
