Bringing the laptop is fine. I’d love to watch some stream in between matches. Do we have a way to output it to a monitor? That’d be neat. If the card dudes are around we might have to be careful about the volume on it so they can still call their audibles and make their combos and stuff but I think they are finishing earlier these days anyway.
Thanks for coming Karma_Villain! I was the curly headed idiot. I think Bear (the guy primarily schooling you) was just happy to be playing people other than his brother and us for once. Any chance to infect the virus that is 3s love is awesome for all of us. Very welcome. 3soeoeooeoeoeoeoeooeoeoeoeoeoeoecan’twait.
hey everybody!! so yeah, my PS3 kinda got the "yellow light of death] last weekend during some MK9 casuals (talk about a fatality lol) and all i got really is my dreamcast for any kind of serious fighting games. it really sucks cause i dont have the money right now to fix it and i dont even know if it CAN be fixed. im just really bummed out because i loved my fat’s ability to play PS2 games if i wanted to and now i cant so…yeah. i might still come over for some hammer hall regardless, ill just play some AE or whatever i have available y’know?
/\ What’s with this walking ad guy posting in here? Hey “invest in gold” amirite?
@mugen, Sorry to hear about your PS3 dude. Those backwards compatible ones are getting harder and harder to find. Please do come up just to play. We always try to have at least one setup of each of the three big games right now. MK, AE, MvC.
Hold on hold on. Where is everyone playing casuals at? I know I don’t check this thing everyday but did I miss something? Let me know guys so I can bring some players from kings bay.
it’s best to have at minimum 4 xlr mic inputs. 2 is just not enough imho, as it limits you to just 2 quality mics at one time and is the reason i purchased a mixer with 4 xlr inputs. you could use the 1/4" inputs, but the balance on 1/4" vs xlr input is different and not as good sound quality. plus xlr connections lock into place and you have less of a chance for the cable to come out. (i have been a sound engineer for most of the largest clubs in the city)
mic quality isn’t going to be too important, but you will want an on/off switch and ones with xlr connectors (ie: cable not permanently attached to the mic).
the mixer i bought is made by mackie and is the music industry standard as far as quality is concerned.
you have two commentators talking, but you as the streamer have to do announcements/advertisements. since you will more than likely not be parked next to them and on the otherside of a table, etc…you will need a mic just for yourself. also…not all lines on a mixer stay healthy forever. if you ever lose a line-in on your mixer, it’s ALWAYS best to have a spare for those “just in case” scenarios.
Hey guy I have a small (26" I think) analog televison and a 360 with AE, MvC3 and XBLA MvC2 that I can bring to HH if its needed the only thing is the days I could bring are shakey but I should be able to bring it the weekend after this coming one.
So the Tilted Kilt weekly casual fell through. They have some other events they are focused on. Back to the drawing board but definitely not giving up!
If anyone knows a place with an area that may be good for some mid-week weekly ranbats sessions, let me know.
Hey I want to get with you and a few others (Spektrum and Sying) I’ve talked with about the idea of getting a place opened up together. I was thinking of getting dinner or drinks and discussing it in more detail in person so we could get the idea train rolling and figure out what the best way to execute the plan that we formulate. Let me know when you are available and we’ll get something together with the rest of the guys. I’m dead serious about this and I will have time and money to invest in making this happen so lets do this.
@The Priest I’m busy until the end of the month with school, but hit me up, im always availiable on gmail or google talk.
@tyger Gorilla Games in Mandarin on San Jose has a couch/TV setup and another mini setup and probably room for 1 more. I think they have held a MK tournament in the past, so they are familiar with some of us
Also, Mudville Grille where Atlantic and Beach meet has a group meeting room, which i do not think is used most weekdays.
Maybe get with Batman904 and talk to the owners of Qball?
@spektrum I will donate 15 dollars tonight. I want that pillow! Will not pay 15 dollars for a venue fee, but for a souvenir sure!
It’s not about the place, but moreso about the community to keep it together. I think we have a good thing going with Hammer Hall. Let’s keep it going and make it a long-lasting thing. If anything happens with the venue, we move to another place. It’s not difficult… just need to be persistent.
I will see if we can find us another location. Once again, if anyone knows of a place with a GOOD AMOUNT OF SPACE, let me know. I’ve been to Gorilla Games before. It’s a cool setup and I think something could be worked out, but I’m trying to look for a larger place with all the monitors I have. The larger the space, the more potential we have to make it grow. Just my opinion.
Mudville Grille sounds good if the area is big enough. Can’t say I’ve been there before, but I know where the locations are. Anyone have any connections?
@Priest - Make a date and time. Like actually, schedule something. If it doesn’t work out, we can reschedule. It gives us something to work around. I’ll throw something out there… how about meet Monday, July 25th at 7:30pm at Alehouse? If no can do, we retry.
Mudville Grille is literally where Beach and Atlantic meet. They have a meeting room separate from the restaurant area. that they use for booster clubs, political rallys, what have you. They have TV’s already there. I think the manager’s name is Jerry.
