Marn has basically always been the way he is…he didn’t start after EC Throwdown…I don’t have anything against Marn personally, but he’s just…a different character.
Joe was the only EC to lose in the 5v5
I don’t think Daigo actually threw anything. Having said that If he thinks justin has no chance of beating him in other words doesn’t respect his game, and he is the type to like to ham it up i can see him throwing a few rounds. Back in the day the tekken community had a fella by the name of jop. Probably the most dominant american tekken player ever. He would throw rounds all the time. Then he would pretend to be the hulkster.
He does shit like that all the time, which to me explains the hate…that wasn’t hard was it?
You think it makes sense to hate on a guy because the way he celebrates and plays up to the crowd annoys you, despite him not being at all disrespectful to anybody?
You probably hate pro tennis players who celebrate after winning a big point too…
start reading ffs, he jumped up and acted like crazy without even winning a matchpoint. it is disrespectful when you play somebody and he runs around while you sit down to play him. imagine a basketball player running around like crazy after each scored point…no time, gotta play a game! im pretty sure he tried to play mindgames on daigo, everybody cheering and screaming can be annoying, it didnt help anyway.
Guys, you should watch some more tournaments. I’ve seen hi-ranked players stand up and turn to the crowd just by scoring a finishing Ultra. Not even watching the screen as it runs.
Celebrating with the crowd is the way it’s done. Noone should be “hated” for that.
So you know him pretty well, eh?
Damn, this thread done made 40 pages already.
Dunno if this was mentioned, but anyone else wishing that Daigo would’ve forced started the match when Justin got up?
Given that would’ve been messed up, but it also would’ve been funny to some degree. Plus all the “Oooh, that was dirty” angle.
One can dream. And I done did. I laughed.
it’s $7000. I don’t think ANYONE would intentionally throw a match over $7000.
You need to start reading you fool, we all watched the final. What rule says that staying seated and twiddling my thumbs is the only respectful and accepted way to act after winning a round?
He was celebrating during the downtime between rounds, he wasn’t holding anybody up.
Ah forget it, you won’t understand. But I’m sure play SF with you is a real riot.
Lol I thought the same thing…I was like wow Wong is being a tool Daigo should just press start and fuck him up already lolol.
Edit: Lmao I just got neg repped for using the world tool. :looney:
Wong is the man. Why is daigo? Cuz he sits there and doesnt say anything? Wong has charisma. Plus he doesnt friggen main ryu…Wong should have atleast tried to get in daigo’s face alittle, tried to take him more off his game. Or rattle him if nothing else.
The only thing the celebrations do is reinforce the idea that Daigo is an exceptional player. I don’t know what the big deal is though. It’s not like he insulted or intimidated him in any way. Tbh, I’d be more intimidated by Daigo’s emotionless presence. It’s like he’s saying ‘I do this shit in my sleep, fool’.
lol@ people thinking that daigo threw the first few matches. He was obviously trying to win… cuz you know… this IS a tournament and people DO get money if they win.
I couldv’e sworn I saw him mashing on the start button whilst looking around his shoulder.
Sorry, but after watching this video:
I can’t see why people are defending Wong. Watch what happens with Wongs first victory - he get’s right into Mike Ross’s face.
I think that’s a little different though, that is more liek East vs West coast…not that i’m trying to support Justin. It’s not like Mike Ross doesn’t know how Justin plays and how he acts anyway…Thats just how Justin is I guess, he is loud and likes to get people involved and Mike also likes doing that, but he goes for it in a more subtle way lol.
are people still going on with this? or are you just trolling now?
no one needs to ‘defend’ wong as much as show how juvenile it is to make the same tired argument over and over. throwing taunts is the oldest shit in the book, people act like this is a completely new phenomenon with SFIV.
hell, they HUGGED at the end, obviously not everyone does this. I won’t say its any indication of friendship (bc I don’t know them personally thus i’ll refrain from making any sort of judgment) but they at least it shows they have respect for one another and it was possibly PLAYFUL.
ross can speak for himself. this thread has run its course imo.
You got a fucking problem with maining Ryu?
