You also left out Evil Ryu but that’s none of my business.

Anyways, the character with the most chance is going to be Abel because of Charlie. They need some way to tie him into the game and Abel fits the bill, especially if Guile misses the cut this time.

Viper was in for her mission to destroy SIN. Seth is dead so her mission is pretty much a success. There’s virtually no reason for her to be in V.

Again, Seth is dead so there’s no chance of him being in the game.

EL Fuerte and Hakan were the least liked characters of the cast so I highly doubt they make a return.

Unless they continue the “rivalry” between Rufus and Ken over the best fighter in America, then he literally doesn’t have a story.

As for Gouken and Oni, the only way either of them make it in is if Gouken wins the duel between him and Akuma and because of it Akuma succumbs to Satsui no Hado and becomes Oni. If that doesn’t happen then neither has a story.

evil ryu was in alpha, how is he a IV character?

Evil Ryu… Maybe… But I don’t want it.
Juri seems to be a: 99% chance to be in the game but… What if she isn’t here? This would change all of our speculation about the cast, and open a door for less famous character like Hakan (just an example).

Viper and Fuerte doesn’t fit at all Street Fighter spirit, and I don’t want them.

Never played Alpha.

None

Well since Juri already made the list (Pretty obvious she would) then Abel.

Characters like E.Ryu and Oni I don’t’ see seeing the light of day again since story-wise they don’t exist anymore (in oni’s case never did he was a what-if character).

Clearly C.Viper, even over Abel. CAPCOM doesn’t give a shit about SF’s storyline, and she’s more popular than everyone on this poll.

While she may not be the most played character, her design was largely received with positive praise, unless you live in South Korea.

Plus she’s been in 3 games already, was part of that one limited edition chess set they did, and even has an official Kotobukiya statue while among all the females in the series, Chun and Cammy are the only others.

No matter how you slice it she is very popular.

Also Im really hoping Gouken wasnt a one-off character. His playstyle is solid and fun.
I would like Abel to return as well. The rest of the new characters I dont particularly care for.

Technically…that was false. You’re not referring to “the bad hair style?” right. Made up nonsense. Korea actually liked her very much. It was just a bunch of angry hoodlums who decided to spread the rumor.

Of course if it’s something else entirely then I’m at a loss.

Wrong. She’s a CIA agent, and her job is to fight evil organizations/ criminals / etc, unlike other characters, she wasn’t going after Seth for personal reasons, she did because that was her job and he was the biggest threat at the time. If anything, her role can be adapted into any storyline.

Ehh, I would disagree with that. People poo-poo on Rufus, but I’d debate that he is the most popular original SF4 character. It may be a biased opinion since I use him, and don’t mind him, but I’m looking at character usage across the board. Unless someone can correct me with statistics, the popularity in character usage goes:

  1. Rufus
  2. C. Viper
  3. Gouken
  4. Juri
  5. Oni
  6. Abel
  7. El Fuerte
  8. Hakan

Again, I’m sure this is my opinion, and it’s all debatable in the middle, especially with Decapre in now, because if we add her, she’s the most popular, but I’m going by character usage, not by how much players like them or the design.

You’re right, her storyline could be adapted anywhere, and I agree, it makes sense for her and Abel to make it on the roster. I could only see Rufus coming if Ken comes back (or if they use my idea and adapt King Cobra finally). But one thing I think we all can agree on, is keep your El Fuerte out my SFV!

C. Viper - Cause she’s top tier, and has top tier looks, with a solid theme, what’s not to like? (besides that salty people that can’t deal with her unorthodox arch type)

Abel - Cause he’s pretty new to SF with IV being his first game, surprised he was in SFxT though. Abel is one of the few grappler’s in SF, might as well put him in.

Gouken - Could careless about this ass character, but for some reason i can see him sitting on the far bottom right of the SFV character select list as one of the characters that everyone will forget about now and then, kind of like how he is now, along with Dhalsim, Dan, and a few others.

Hakan- Cause he’s only in SFIV, and pretty sure they’re going to let him get in on the action another time around.

Characters that are not:

Oni - Basically an Evil Evil Akuma, he was originally just a way for Capcom to save money without having to make a character from scratch during the AE days, similar to what they did in USF4. I honestly don’t think anyone would care (besides Oni mains, but who cares) <- That part was rhetorical

El Fuerte - Just look at his move set, totally R. Mika inspired, he can easily be replaced by the real thing. Mika is also good eye candy, especially when she gets her shot at next gen boobies :3 (fan service) Finally, most people hate El Fuerte anyways, the world would hardly notice.

Seth - Self explanatory.

Rufus - Consecutively scores low on popularity polls, even lower than the other 3 (besides El Fuerte) horrible design, and so much more. Unlike the rest, i can see them worming Rufus into SFV in future DLC though.

While it was partially the hair style thing, the main complaint I heard is that people were very upset that their countries only representative was a genuinely terrible person. I love the character for that exact reason though.

I mean I’m pretty sure she killed some children in that OVA. If not children, she definitely killed people for sure.

That’s the main reason? Are you serious? I want…I just…I-I-I stands back for a second. What? Terrible…terrible…terrible. WE have good TKD practitioners…why not a bad one? Vega is the only spain rep and he gets lots of love yet he’s a murderous bastard just like Juri.

Don’t people know evil is badass and awesome? I would love if Juri could rep my country. Fuck the goodies. Being evil is where it’s at.

I made a comment about it once. I’m glad they didn’t go the good girl route. If they did then Juri wouldn’t be Juri. She would be some unknown girl would be fairly weak (story-wise) not a good story to tell. She wouldn’t have her unusual hairstyle (which I love it’s basically pigtails just in a different style) they would let her hair run loose and make it to her ass then she shoots magical pixie dust and calls it an attack.

No.thank.You.

I don’t understand of all things her hair is complained about…why? I don’t see it. Whatever. Oh and for sure she killed basically everything in that park. I’m surprised the park didn’t cave in f a moth landed on a piece of debris.

LOL @ the psychopath / evil for the sake of being evil being any sort of ORIGINAL or ground breaking

I’d dig Rufus being in more if he wasn’t just dive kick shenanigans and lost some fucking weight. Still TBD about when 5 takes place but it’s likely far in the future and if Rufus is in and still has a weight problem then capcom must really be sending a message about how lazy and repulsive Americans are.

They have a “baddass and awesome” guy with a bowl cut north of the border who murders girlfriends by firing squad. 40 million South Koreans would disagree with your definition of “awesome”. I know SF is a game and not real life, but try to understand their perspective. :pensive:

She wasn’t always that way. Shadaloo broke her…she’s merely returning the favor in full force and thensome. I’m curious to what happens when she achieves her goal.

leaving out the most popular character (Juri) in a popularity contest was stupid.

and if Alex is in, Abel is automatically out.

and gouken would be too old for V.

I don’t really understand why Abel is automatically out… if we follow that way of thinking, if Ryu is in, every other shotos are out… And we all know that this is false. I don’t say that Abel WILL BE in SFV, but I’m not ok with “Alex in ? Abel out”
