so i guess no more safe tortilla?
and no more escaping corners with guac it looks like

they really felt he was too good?

yea man its retarded. the tortilla thing is stupid too. they might aswell take his loop out and make him the new Gen

I was gonna disagree with you, then i read the changes. What the hell man all nerfs? How about something good

yeah Don’t know wtf they were thinking Fuerte might as well be the New Dan if he wasn’t a joke before He’s an ever bigger joke now

As long as his infinites still there its alright lol.
That sucks about the ultra spark nerf though :frowning:

maybe they wanted to see more splash game

U2 nerf is legit. the other nerfs were extremely uncalled for

uhhh of course the infinite is gonna be in this one, its his only combo aside from jab chains and rh> guac.

and fuerte got shitted on. but ill keep playing as him to expose how bad of a character he really is.

I cant imagine how much easier it is to hit him out of tortilla since you can always just jump back lk to beat him out of it. capcom is stupid. you can react to his mixups pretty easily. fuerte is one of the most straightforward characters to play with. but it takes the most work to win with. people dont understand that fuerte can run at you, and if you see him jump, you can just jumpback with an attack and knock him out of it. its retarded.

but whatever imma still play with him because im retarded and I find fun playing him =)

You can still perform safe tortilla by making your opponent’s DP whiff, you just won’t be able to beat their DP clean anymore, which really doesn’t happen very often in SSF4 anyway. So that’s irrelevant; safe tortilla still works. It also kind of sucks that you won’t be able to pass through fireballs on the way up anymore, but you still have QCF + P~HP for that. As long as your opponent can’t back dash a safe tortilla and punish you, then this nerf isn’t that bad.

More recovery on Guacamole on landing isn’t really that bad either. This just means you can’t EX Guac escape on wake up anymore, which wasn’t even that good at all to begin with, a lot of characters can punish it for free. As long as the invincibility stays the same, then this nerf isn’t that bad.

The buffs to his normals are pretty damn good, this is what we’ve been waiting for. Chainable cr. jabs and 4F st. jab and cr. jab will help him out a lot. Combos after F+MK instantly become a lot easier; Shower Kick to st. jab x 4 does like 150, which is good damage for Fuerte, especially off an insanely fast overhead that hops lows. I personally land F+MK a lot, but I often drop the 1F link into jab after, and you can’t plink it.

The Ultra 2 nerf was warranted, it’s an objectively stupid move, even though I thought it was fine  Ultra 1 is still really good.

I knew a thread like this would be made right away, and I know the kneejerk reaction here is to declare Fuerte dead, but it could be worse.

You know, I was wondering what they were talking about when they mentioned Tortilla’s invincibility. Still, I’m really curious what those nonparticular changes were assuming the google translation was correct.

f-mk into jab is 2 frames not 1 frames its already easy to link for me any way <_> just try checking the timing between jab and standing light kick

edit
also Recovery on Guac was nice enough that sometimes you wouldn’t be able to catch fuerte if you didn’t react fast enough now he’ll prolly just be even more free on wake up =/

I’ll reserve most of my judgement when I get to play him but either way our Fuerte is goina need to work even harder in AE

Talk about a nerf bat… yeah.

But that’s fine. We’ll just have more tears of anger and anguish when we spank scrubs.

ITT: people continue to underestimate the importance of normals.

Unless jab combos into his RSF, he got nerfed.

It looks like it actually does combo into the c.MK loop, but that’s not really important or practical.

Do your homework before you call someone out; Shower Kick is +5 on hit and st. jab has 5F start up.

Absolutely right. Fuerte players are particularly guilty of this because they’re not used to using normals.

fuerte does not have good normals.

Taco Knee is so underrated.

are you talking about an air normal

good thing i’ve been working on a secondary

sucks about fuerte tho… =[

Neither does Rufus, but that doesn’t mean you don’t press low fierce.

And depending on how many more active frames you get, that jab could be about Balrog quality. That’s a good normal.
