Probably true for everyone. I miss Chuck E Cheeze arcades being awesome, but maybe that’s a Northwest thing.

But when you bring arcade parts into the *******ing arcade so that they can fix their stuff or bring them the sheet that tells how to unlock characters and they don’t bother fixing their stuff - a lot of arcades brought it upon themselves.

the chuck e cheese’s(called showbiz then) out here in southern va were a true arcade up until the late 90s. i first played KI, MK, SF2, SS, fighters history, and xmen children of the atom there.

re: same character teams

You guys are way overthinking this. If same character teams are allowed online (not guaranteed, but you never know), you’re going to see nothing but Cable x 3 teams who nothing but jump back gunshot XX Viper Beams while calling Cable Beam or Anti-Air assist. The fact that this team would get raped by MSP or whoever is irrelevant. People forget that out of all the top tier, Cable is BY FAR the easiest to win with at lower levels. In fact, he’s such a gigantic wall to overcome that I’m pretty sure non-Cable using players who are new to the game will quit in a rage before the game is a month old. And that’s against bad Cables: Good ones will frighten them off even faster.

I think all of these naysayers to the potential longetivity of the game are forgetting how incredibly fun the low tier matches can be.

there will be much more freedom to pick whatever team you want when you can set your tourney rules/time and just go have fun

I bet it kills alot of haters inside that the game will keep evolving and people will keep on having fun.

some triple char teams are good, most are not. it’s not even really going to be a factor.

mag/mag/psy is pretty sick tho

I don’t think so, but I’m pretty sure it’s coming out (or it’s already out) for PS2. Although, there’s no online play so why bother unless you know people IRL who you can play with.

Not a bad choice, but if you play against an assist that knocks doom, does strider have a good assist you can use? Wouldn’t that team have trouble covering the SJ area?

I don’t think Cable is a better battery than other top xx/Cable/sent teams IMO.

**Ironman x 2 / Doom **(Julius Jackson without wack ass War Machine)

Better than a team with WM in it. An interesting team.

Sentinel x 3 - but prepare to get fucked by Cable.

And Spiral eheh. I don’t think that team would be that bad, esp with one RP assist and one drones. But it would lose badly to a lot of teams. All IMO, of course. I haven’t played this game in years.

Never said “better”. I was just listing those that I thought would work… (As opposed to watching 3 Magnetos get rushed for free.

Mag/Mag/Psy is not so hot really. Being able to DHC into hailstorm really brings MSP to the next level if you ask me. Now Storm/Storm/Psy and I’m on the other end of the connection like :annoy:.

Seriously though I think Sent/Storm/Storm in any order may be one of the best teams ever, at least playing theory fighter in my head with Sent flying all over with horizontal tornadoes eating assists and vertical tornadoes keeping sj attempts grounded and of course DHC to Hailstorm whenever you so much as whiff a hard attack.

exactly…too many people forgot that their are 56 characters in the game…granted not all of them are fun to play but their are alot of fun low tier characters that i will bring out against the team scrubs, msp’s and santhrax’s of the worlds…i’ll get owned but i know it will surprise them to see it… of course i’ll play my share of top tier matches too…

i just want the crack that will be mvc2 online!

I was honestly thinking about Megaman/T.Bonne/BB Hood, maybe Cable or Cyke instead of Mega… Just big ass 70-80% DHCs into Lunch Rush/Cool Hunting. CH being invincible means that I can use it on reaction like I can a AHVB against stuff like HSAF.

It works. Easiest way is to have P2 pick Iron Man, have him team super and alpha counter against that.

The timing window may be different - I only played it for 2 minutes to check this, but it’s there.
