I think its more that they are no longer able to keep up and still profit, so it goes further down hill.
Online Play is a Great Thing!!! I still for the life of me don’t understand all the hate for it, and never will.

i dunno… I went from arcade to GGPO… and it runs fine to me. but then again, i’m not playing at a high level like yourself. high level play isn’t meant to be played online anyway, so why compare? moderate level play is fine on ggpo.

I think it applies more for people who once had thriving arcade scenes. I agree with you that online is great, but they help destroy arcades where, from my understanding, there was always great, local, lag free competition, and where there was much more of a social aspect to video games then a lot of other places. If I could, I would support arcades, but the closest one to me is three hours away.

Probably true for everyone. I miss Chuck E Cheeze arcades being awesome, but maybe that’s a Northwest thing.
But when you bring arcade parts into the *******ing arcade so that they can fix their stuff or bring them the sheet that tells how to unlock characters and they don’t bother fixing their stuff - a lot of arcades brought it upon themselves. 
Yeah well i went to a local arcade on friday and the employee told me the same thing since he use to go to school with me. I told him why don’t they do some tournys and maybe bring new games like SFIV and he was saying that “it’s too late” and that “you can’t invest if you don’t have anything left over after paying rent, electricity, maintenance, etc…” which i can understand to a certain degree but when that arcade was packed back like 5 years ago on a saturday night you mean to tell me you don’t have enough to bring in one new game instead of boring old classic cabinets. They have a water fountain that’s been broken since the last time i went there which was a couple of years ago, if you can’t fix a broken water fountain after it’s been broken for over 2 years your not gonna bring in even a rat.
this is why people need to not have arcades and instead have lan centers with food courts

The best part about going to the arcade was hanging out watching others play and talking while you were waiting in line. I can sit on my ass on my own PC playing *Craft at home. =(
The arcade got me into fighting games for sure. Remember always going to the arcade on the weekend. Those were the days.

Is it just me or does the demo lack counter-tagging? I only got to play for 5 minutes but it would not work.
I wonder how long the online community will last for this game…
Blaz Blue and KOF XII will probably eat into it a bit. I know personally, when KOF XII comes out I won’t be playing anything else.
If the port is good? I don’t see the online community for this dying until the next gen systems, or until A new Marvel VS game comes out.
I wonder how badly the new batch of fighting games will affect SF4’s online community though. My guess is a lot.

Not a bad choice, but if you play against an assist that knocks doom, does strider have a good assist you can use? Wouldn’t that team have trouble covering the SJ area?

And Spiral eheh. I don’t think that team would be that bad, esp with one RP assist and one drones. But it would lose badly to a lot of teams. All IMO, of course. I haven’t played this game in years.

SF IV, BB, KOF XII, MvC2, and then apparently Garou, KOF 98 and KOF 2k2 are all coming out on live. Gah!
