It was only released on a Tuesday because of the holiday(Thanksgiving). There’s no holidays anytime soon. Thus, MvC2 will be released on a Thursday as usual with all PSN games.
On the Capcom site, they have added a background on the main site for the US. Thought it was pretty cool.
Wasn’t Captain Commando’s Captain sword fucked up in MvC as well?
in an interview with one of the producers on mvc2 …

SFD: It’s been confirmed that all characters will be available from the start, but for the hardcore players… will all the colours be unlocked from the start as well? What about selecting a team using the same character more than once (Magneto + Magneto + Magneto)?
REY: All of the unlockable features from the DC version will be unlocked from the start of the game. This includes all the available colors, all the characters, and the ever elusive same character teams.
oh no… 3 man cable teams
Nope.
I don’t think same guy three times was allowed in online Japan Dreamcast play… ? Anybody from Japan know?
Cable/Cable/Cable doesn’t really have a lot of chemistry.
team triclops knows what’s up
So, quick question - as someone who’s relatively new to Marvel (as in I have never really played the game), would you recommend I jump online right away and start learning like that (ie getting beasted by people better than me), or should I fuck around in a training mode (if there is one) to get my bearings?
Training mode is a good idea. Still, quarter matches aren’t bad for learning how to play from friends.
This is my best shot at advice to get started.
Step one Defense: Play matches online against good people and learn to block crazy shit.
Step two Theoretical Offense: Go to training mode and practice combos and figure out Team Chemistry.
Step three Applied Offense: Go back into to matches online and try to find openings for your combos while maintaining your defense.
FIXED.
It’s really impossible to try learn how to block “good” in this game in a short period of time. You’ll learn how to block “good” down the line by playing a lot of good players.
I can only give one tip: when starting out, put Commando AAA in your 3rd slot. He will be a lot easier for to use than other AAAs early on before you get used to the game. Then afterwards you can expand out but Commando will help you a lot especially vs other noobs.
Hmmm…
That doesn’t sound like a bad idea, though trying to play defense against a good Magneto for a first-timer might be a bit overwhelming. I did mine the opposite way: I learned some combos and commited them to muscle memory FIRST. I THEN played the computer and waited for their lagtime or whiffs to show them what I learned. After that I focused on defense… and oddly enough, defense is still my weakpoint. Coincidence?
Yeah, when I started out I felt like I would die too fast to do anything miuch at all so I just sat and watched and blocked untill I coud could last long enough to start doing some attacking. Obviously you are not going to black crazy mixups from magneto or anything, but the things that are reasonable to block you should get used to.
Cant wait till this drops…and its gon have the lobby too. Thank goodness happy
I remember playing it once in the arcades when I was younger, but aside from that, I’ve never played it. I’m so getting it when it comes out.
Fair warning anyone that plays against me online and uses 3 or 2 of the same characters on a team, I’ll quit. that shit is mad stupid.
could you imagine mag/mag/sent or mag/sent/sent that shit would get ugly really fast.
you sure you are able to do that?

wow, I wonder why they would put that.
