It’s telling that they hate Tien when even the ToP arc, the one arc that brought relevance to some characters swallowed up by the power creep decades ago just have him unceremoniously job like Yamcha.
They did him super dirty.

Akira himself said that he doesn’t know how to write female characters and what to do with them
Chichi had a role in OG DB, then once she married Goku - Toriyama ran out of ideas so she became a housewife. Videl was an up and coming fighter, taught directly by Gohan, but gets shit beaten out of her and is then relegated to a role of a housewife. Android 18 was a major villain that humiliated one of the mainstay characters, but once Cell comes and goes she gets it on with Krillin, and, you guessed it - becomes a housewife up until TOP, which thankfully brought her and 17 back into the fighting action. Zangya was a part of the Bojack squad, and her “story” ends by literally getting blown up by Bojack himself as a way to distract Gohan.
Notice how Pan was the only female character in Dragon Ball that actually was in the protagonist party in GT, precisely because Toriyama had no involvement with that series
But the stupidest part is how is ti that Toriyama, a guy who started his career with a gag manga, did not know how to apply Launch in Z and beyond? Her main quirk is that she has a split personality and her hait turns golden after sneezing. There’s so much potential that could be had with the villains assuming she’s a Super Saiyan, all of whom also had golden hair
I also liked the idea PlagueofGripes expressed in one of his drawing videos, where he suggested that the crew should’ve used the Dragon Balls to wish for Launch’s personalities to permanently split into two separate humans, so that instead of one staying in limbo, both Launches could coexist with one another
It’s kind of a miracle that at least Bulma had prominent appearances all throughout the series

Doubtful about Corona having anything to with it. It’s been a year since super ended or more. Not a peep about it. It’s very odd for something as popular as dragon ball to not give us a hint it’s coming back

I mean, Chichi was always kind of irrelevant, A18 can still fight and even does in the current arc, so he can just add her whenever Krillin shows up.
Launch could work as a gag character.
It’s not that hard, but Toriyama keeps trying to write a female first and a character second… 
Pan is also pretty much a nothing character herself, despite being billed as one of the main protagonists of GT. Hell, her arc starts pretty promising (a young girl descendant to legendary Saiyans who is trying to break out on her own) yet shows NO character growth throughout the series, is kind of a cunt towards Giru, and contributes next to NOTHING in actual fighting scenarios.

And he does have some skill in character writing when he tries, Vegeta transformation over the entire series is just wonderful to behold. Rare, but it’s there

To be fair, women in most action based manga/anime get shit to do besides be eye candy or maybe a nice fight irrelevant to the plot.
As far as Super, I am guessing until they have a set plan they are going to hold off as they would want it to be another long running show with as little filler as possible.

Watching the Frieza saga again.
Am I missing something…or did Vegeta job hard to Frieza?
Goku obviously beat him.
Gohan shook Frieza more than one occasion.
Piccolo almost beat stage 2 Frieza.
I mean even Krillin was able to do something to Frieza by cutting his tail.
Aside from deflecting a few shots…it seemed like everything Vegeta threw at Frieza was shrugged.
