Speaking of which, that’s always bugged me. Was it ever explained why Androids 19 and 20 didn’t exist in Mirai/Future Trunks’ timeline? I mean, Android 20 was Dr. Gero himself, so…?

Not to my knowledge. My assumption was just that since Trunks was the one that killed Frieza instead of Goku, Gero might’ve made himself and 19 as an insurance policy.

sounds about right, remember that the andriods killed gero after they discovered goku was dead; gero wanted world domination but the andriods rebelled…19 and 16 may have been already made just not activated…

there where a couple of loopholes in trunks timeline in general; seeing as how master roshi or someone in trunks timeline knew about the lookout point/hyperbolic time chamber area but not mentioning it to gohan and trunks, but I believe that gohan had to find some to train so he might have went there as an adult but never told trunks.

lol time travel

Eh, Time travel changes the future; by going back in time Trunks changed future events so instead of Dr. Gero stopping at 17 and 18, he would go on to create #19 and turn himself into an android.

Originally Toriyama had Androids 20 and 19 as the ones Trunks went back in time to warn about, but his editor didn’t like the idea or some such, so Toriyama created 17, 18 and 16.

to be fair… Goku thought of the idea to train in RoSaT because it was intro’d as part of his skipped training under Kami [doesn’t make much canon since but w/e] and with an early dead F.Goku there is no Dende to replace Kami [was Goku’s idea too] so when F.Piccolo fuses [or just dies] the secret of the RoSaT goes with Kami… unless popo speaks up. Most likely no one used it in F.Trunks time line as they didn’t even train like the main time line during the 3 year gap.

F.Gohan was likely stronger than the F.Trunks that killed Freiza, plausibly as strong as the Vegeta that lost to 18. and by Goku’s RoSaT chat with Gohan… F.Gohan had little chance of knowing about RoSaT.

Yeah, time travel is pretty difficult to pull off without plotholes.

I’m sorry, but that doesn’t explain anything. If anything, it makes me wonder why Android 17 and 18 (and well, 16) exist then.

Seriously, if that’s supposed to be the explanation, then I’d rather take Saitsuofleaves’ explanation even though I can’t remember either Android 19 or 20 ever mentioning Trunks explicitly or even implicitly.

but f.gohan could have trained there after the deaths of everyone during his years growing up; gohan had to find some way to get stronger and it wasnt his natural power that fought the andriods based on all his techniques he used agaisnt the andriods (i.e energy shield, masenko full power, defensive strategies), im sure SSJ vegeta did some training alone but just not as much as f.gohan
gohan knew that if he fought the andriods as a kid he would die; so within that time period I believe he did train in the HBTC or maybe with master roshi

I doubt it really would’ve helped. He definitely wouldn’t have come up with the idea of the Full Power SSJ, so he’s have to rely on the USSJ form if he even discovered that. Remember, Gohan never really came up with his own moves. He just kind of borrowed things from everyone else. The only thing he really created was SSJ2, and that was by luck. And in that future, there’s no possible way for him to go SSJ2 as he has no control over his hidden powers (this is of course going with the general assumption that when you transform into a SSJ form at least once, you gain the ability to transform into it at will) so he’ll never gain the first transformation into SSJ2 as a kid because without Goku, he probably wasn’t even a SSJ1 as a kid.

Too much

Piccolo’s whole talk about krillin not attacking 18 had me lol.

punching an android in her robo-coochie: It prolly be? like: Zzztzzhztzzh

LOLOL

the timeline was fucked up originally by Cell, then Trunks shitted on it some more

I thought the makers of DBZ said it wasn’t time travel but different dimensions or some shit.

1)DBZ we know
2)Trunks’ shit
3)The Cell that came to the DBZ we know dimension.

Trunks also said as much once he saw Cell’s time machine was his time machine and mentions how his actions there had no effect on his own time line noting the androids were still there…

not so ninja edit:

  1. Who would know about the room [Goku, Kami, Popo all be dead] let alone how it works?
  2. So you think F.Gohan can’t develop said techniques over the 12-16 years F.Trunks was alive but 1year alone in RoSaT would do it?
  3. If F.Gohan did train there, why didn’t F.Trunks?

…Again Goku’s conversation implies F.Gohan never trained there… at least in the manga [ch.377 pg.9 and DBZ-K ep.77] anyway.

EXACTLY!

and R.P.D rookie brought up some interesting points. I honestly believe deep-down Vegeta has feelings (or begins to) for the others around him, even if he would never admit it. This is more apparent during and after the fight with the Buus.

He sacrifices himself and wants his child (and even Goku’s) safe from harm’s way. The finale of DBZ has Vegeta submitting more to their ways and lightening up some.

I believe in that instant, Vegeta was pissed and saw Tien (one of his fellow allies) being beaten easily by an android and rushed to kick that android’s ass kind of like “you can’t beat him up in front of me, How dare you, I’ll kill you”.

I don’t think Vegeta ever wanted any of them to die from this point on, just to stand out of his way as he wanted to be the strongest in the universe.

my biggest problem with the whole future Trunks angle/saga is why did they forget the Dragonballs existed?? Bluma was still alive, why didnt she and Gohan get the balls and wish some shit up?

I think Piccolo was dead before they realized just what they were really up against.

Did they kill Dende too?? Bluma was still alive so they have acess to a spaceship to get to new namek and make a wish using those balls

Ya i know its being overly technical but i always considered that to be a really big hole lol

I always got confused by Cell explaining how he got to “our” DBZ dimension. He states he killed Trunks after he got back from warning the Z warriors about the androids but then there’s supposedly another alternate universe where Trunks wasn’t killed by cell as he returns to check on the Z warriors?

confused…
