Just leave out that played-out “Play through the anime series” shit. Everybody has seen and played through the events of dbz and that shit is old and annoying as the fuck. There is NO need to bring it back every damn game. If you want a story mode, make an entirely new story, chill with the “what if” crap, and toss in some new characters: a new big bad with henchmen.
I’d say that too however being the fact that since I work at GS I’ve realized something that probably most of you haven’t. Apparently DBZ Kai has actually brought DBZ back (probably no where near as close to Toonami tier popularity but it’s building) and bringing in another whole audience. There has been a complete resergence of people buying the DB games all of a sudden. We’ve pretty much been selling the hell out the games for the last couple of weeks and IIRC we’re actually sold out of them all currently. I’m actually thinking at the same time ‘HA…TAKE THAT CN!’ while all of this is going on. Seriously though I think that’d be some type of karma if DB did blow back up to Toonami tier.
Actually…it looks like that MAY be what they’re doing with Raging Blast 2…sort of.

Raging Blast 2 will include a remake of a little known OVA called “The Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans”. This will actually be a full 30 minute animated feature included on the disc with NEW animation (rather than just remastering a la Kai). The original OVA was never released outside of Japan, so this is completely new to most Americans (and a lot of Japanese fans as well).
The cover of the game has the villain from said OVA, which leads me to believe the game itself will also cover the OVA’s story, rather than the series.
I could not stand the new DBZ kai. Way too much stuff is cut out. When i was younger, I used to hate a lot of the drawn out episodes, but now since i downloaded all 60gbs of dbz, (2 versions of english voices and remastered jap voices) all those in between episodes add a lot to the story. So far on watching every episode, i am up to Trunks just leaving back to the future and telling Goku to prepare for the androids in 3 years.

At least they don’t need to remake the Jump Anime Special if they decide to pack that in, that’s gorgeous enough already. I’d kill for any sort of copy of it though. It was hilarious.

I doubt it. The OVA is so old and obscure that footage is rather rare. There was a fansub back in the nineties, but it pretty much goes without saying that it was horrible.
Warning for you dub-only guys: Raging Blast 2’s OVA is going to be Sub only in the US according to Funi’s twitter.

I hope they just fix the controls back to the way the playstation 2 controlled. I actually enjoy Funi’s dub I do hate that they took alot of the serious stuff ( As someone mentioned before) and added their own twist too it. Yet, I can’t help but enjoy how Chris Sabat captures Vegeta’s personality.
