The best fight in all of Dragon Ball Z:

Andriod 18 VS Super Sajin Vegeta

That one was just brutal, and it was etched into my memory as a child. Instead of the whole flying around shooting fireballs shtick, they were actually using locks and holds, prolly a first in DBZ.

18 fucking bent Vegeta’s elbows the other way, broke a leg, and grinded her foot deep into his rib cage. That was fucking sick.

In retrospect, I am amazed that Toonami did not edit the shit out that scene. That was prolly the biggest ass beating in all of DBZ dub.

And lol at the epic music when Yamcha arrived. It made his death even funnier.

Speaking of funny deaths, did/do the (original) dubs cut out West City getting cratered like that when the Saiyans arrived? Because I totally don’t remember that scene at all which made it all the funnier as well.

(Of course, I [vaguely] remember the infamous, “It’s okay! I can see their parachutes!” and “Thank goodness it’s Sunday!” stuff, but not them just nuking like half of a city upon arrival.)

Yeah the saiyans are well versed in time on Earth Dub did some funny jobs of trying to covery shit up.

I loved that movie, but I hated SS3 Goku’s attitude
What I really wanna know is how Future Trunks got Tapion’s sword:shake:
it is the same sword right? I’d rather DB not continue but I feel like if they were to continue the Dragonball series they should it do in Trunk’s era, I know everyone died but they can make up a way for them to be revived.

The credit’s lend to it being the same sword (or maybe the sword of Tapion’s brother)

Given that there was no SSJ3 Goku in F.Trunk’s timeline we know the dragon fist was not an option. in the movie kid trunks was told to kill Tapion while he tried to contain both halves of the demon. The most likely event for F.Trunks is that he does kill Tapion… :wonder: further explains the contrast of kid Trunks personality.

the only hick-up that remains is how the music box gets opened if Piccolo died way before F.Trunks was even 5 (or 7) so no dragon balls to wish it open…

I’ve thought of how certain events in the main time line could transpire in F.Trunks, even if delayed by a decade…

-Buu saga requires a SSJ2 to attract babidi to earth and awaken buu; F.Trunks technically has enough power… but lacks the know how

-Bojack movie requires a Kai to die

-Brolli movie requires Spargus to take vengeance on the royal line of Vegeta; F.Trunks should know of Brolli and be comparable in power.

-Android 13 movie requires there lab to not have been destroyed, and to activate the trio; F.Trunks should know of them, might even know were the lab is.

Cooler movies pre date F.trunks return and android saga; Goku should still be alive in alternate time line.

The simple solution is that the movies don’t fit into the series proper. They were never meant to and no amount of mental gymnastics is going to get them to work as actual pieces of the Dragon Ball story.

All they really do is take the characters as they are at a certain point in the canon, completely strip away any and all story context, and turn them loose into an hour of action that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. That’s a Dragon Ball movie in a nutshell.

the andriod 13 andriods may have been already active and destoryed by 17 and 18

Brolly should have arrived before the cell saga…

by logic F.trunks should be a SSJ2 after the death of cell and may have attracted babidi to the planet…

see shin budokai 2: another road but that story could have been better written and more solid

1. Trunks/Bulma unearths them to create new Z-warriors fashioned after fallen allies (the ones not wished back)

Brolli had no reason to head toward earth in F.Trunks time line. Without Goku to fuel his anger his father could maintain control over him indefinitely. I suppose Asparagus could just take earth because Vegeta died there… but since not over the decade jump this is less likely. a few fan theorys…

1. Revenge on an older Trunks who could “appreciate” sins of the father falling on the son. Asparagus waits to defeat a mature Trunks.
2. Trunks could take the fight to Brolli. He knows he exist and is around his movie level of power; further incentive to reach SSJ2. lots of possibilities here.
3. Brolli’s outbursts are used to power Buu; Super Buu absorbs Brolli. by trunks…

F.Trunks SSJ2 is plausible, but Bojack’s movie suggests otherwise… at least at first.

@goodm0urning: I think we know movies are out of manga canon (and canon in general) but to focus a discussion around a movie only character includes movies to the canon (for discussion’s sake anyway)

either way… Buu saga required a SSJ2 to get Babadi to earth and wake Buu. Cell suggests F.Trunks has the power necessary, but F.Trunks never in canon actually goes SSJ2… its still plausible that he would attract Babidi while training (assuming F.Trunks would continue to train)

Yeah after about mid-way through the cell/adroid saga, for the rest of the series: Any non-saiyan character just didn’t bother unless it was a last ditch, “we’re gonna die anyway so i might as well try SOMETHING” effort.

SSJ1 was basically godlike, and far more powerful than any human character could ever hope to be. Then these villains are all the time popping up that can hand an SSJ1 his ass EASILY.

I guess you can’t blame the human cast for hanging it up against those odds…

so 4x frieza is still a cell saga jobber and lower than initial “kamiccolo”

They talk and he splits gt Piccolo back into Kami, Piccolo.jr, and Nail. Each are roughly at 1/3 of end Z piccolo and nemec equivalent to Gohan’s age. Surprisingly Pic.D is more than half there separate pwr lvl.

Kami, Piccolo.jr, and Nail not being the original gt piccolo are free from hell. Pic.jr calls in a fav to get Pic.D sent to kai’s for… a year of training… learns then adapts dark versions of kaioken and spirit bomb (kyuken and ‘majin’ bomb). he takes off 3 months early for a mysterious task…

mean while Kami, Piccolo.jr, and Nail train with the 3 other kai’s (another favor for saving the universe and knowing Goku) Piccolo goes were ever Pikuhan’s kai is. each return with with there pwr lvl doubled in 9 months.

Piccolo.D task: before meeting gt piccolo he trick a super nemec (or L.slug) into a cansister of evil energy and hides said canister. after his 9 months of training he return to place a “majin seal” on the super nemec and control him into a forced fuse later. This is how Piccolo.D intended to catch up with the other 3 in pwr. however nail is the only non super nemec so…

3 months left: the 4 nemecs train together and master fusion (dance) with each other each obtaining pwr lvl comparable to gt.Piccolo. In order of pwr Piccolo.jr, Kami, Piccolo.D, and Nail with Piccolo.jr boasting a considerable lead.

A visit from Kaioshin and a few dances, earring set, and chantings later… a new ultimate Piccolo is born. (wearing blackstar DBs like Gouki beads) :bluu: 5x gt piccolo lvl… maybe 7x after controlled nemec fusing with super evil saturated Majin sealed Nemec [/details]

the rate in which the Z fighters grew in preparation for vegeta should tell you how fast in power they grow, may not be keeping up with ssj but ssj is fucking flying in power level
