Is the ball suppossed to move?!

It’s sort of distracting, but if this is how it’s supposed to be I’ll just get used to it.

Dammit, it’s so simple. Thank you.

It’s pretty easy, as long as you know the basics on how to use tools.

Righty tighty, lefty loosey

Sorry, one final clarification…

I guess it’s OK if the ball moves at a different rate than the stick, right?? On mine, It spins quite freely.

Are you able to pop off the ball? No. Then no problem.

Cool. Thanks a lot!

It shouldn’t. If your ball spins off faster than the stick, it means it’s not connected, which means if you keep spinning it counter-clock, it will spin off.

If they’re connected tightly, they’ll spin at the same rate.

If you’re spinning it counter-clockwise, and your ball doesn’t come off, that means one of 2 things:

  1. You’re bat shit crazy and need to lay off the shrooms.
  2. You’ve somehow installed a bearing plate in between your ball and stick, for unknown reasons.

My balls always pop off when spun freely I thought this was normal

I’m pretty sure he just has a shaft cover on the stick, so that’s spinning at a different rate than the actual shaft and ball.

Penis.

I have this stick http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-Major-League-Gaming-6306200/dp/B005LTSS7C/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1335544554&sr=8-7

I think Lord British is right. There does seem to be a shaft cover.

This thread makes me laugh in a very childish manner with all this top of screwing, twisting, balls and shafts

In other news what you outlined is EXACTLY how the old NES Arcade Stick was designed. That damn ball top came off so often I stopped using it almost entirely back in the day.

I dont remember them spinning at all back in the day (talking 20+ years ago mind you). Least not like the newer japanese sticks and how “freely” they spin.

But then again I’m gettin freakin old and my memory is going slowly but surely.

Think I asked the same exact question as the OP when I first got my TE

Wicos and Happs don’t spin, as memory serves, and I’ve recently tried both at the local arcades.

OK… now something else is happening: the stick seems to be able to come out about 1/4 inch. In other words, the shaft can be longer than it is in the stick’s resting position. I’m wondering whether that’s supposed to happen, either (I have large hands, and I can barely hold the stick as it is.)

You mean you can pull the stick UP away from the base? Does it pop when it comes out?

No to both.

Normal, in design.
