If you want a seirous answer, then yes Sakura is a fanservice character, but personally, I ignore all that and I think she’s adorable

uh, I’m pretty sure they didn’t need to make a female shokan when Goro is already there, but they did anyway. It’s no different from making a female fighter that shoots fireballs and performs dps.

fanservice is subjective anyway. Developers don’t fill a roster up with characters that don’t appeal to anyone. Every character has some appeal, even if it’s not sexually. Wouldn’t Megaman X as Zero DLC costume be considered fanservice?

Something the producer does, that they didn’t have to purely for the consumer because they know they will like it.

Sex sells even in fighting games, everybody wants to talk about how SkullGirls is a “good fighting game” but as men or bi-sexual girls bought that game to see all the titties fighting each other, everyone of those producers is a big ass pervert that it just so hit jackpot in sales with that game. Game producers know what we like and that’s why they created Sakura most of they’re porn in Japan features grown girls dressed up in school gear, so they put it in Street Fighter and sure she is a decent character but still, they really know whats going on and they’re intentions even in comic book covers she’s looking provocative It’s the same with Ibuki in SF AE she’s on a boyfriend heat hunt, she’s whooping ass and giving giving guy’s compliments. We can take it back to Old Skool Street Fighter II who would of played with Cammy if she didn’t have that victory pose we all love?
