Medically, at least in the UK, it isnāt wrong to say the ethnicity is Black, although some textbooks refer to āAfro-Caribbeanā, which is probably the most PC term. But itās so hard to say that we just donāt bother. My clinical logbook even says āBlackā. It is equivalent of calling someone Asian (which is the equivalent for South Asian in North America), or Oriental (which is the same as āAsianā in North America). But my institution is weird in having āChineseā and not āOrientalā, rather putting it with āOtherā. Again, I have little ethnic diversity where I live so 99% of my entries are under āWhiteā.
