Is it worth trying to get good at UMVC3 if your only gonna play online?

I see people on MVC2 all the time.

Only problem is I gotta use a 360 pad or stick for it. Need a PS controller, or American stick.

As far as UMVC3, I dont play it much at all, but there is some stuff you just CANT do. Even simple stuff like Storms c.bx2 semi-launch normal jump combos never connect online. And when netcode is bad like UMVC3’s and I see people that CAN do all their combos perfectly online, I feel bad for them.

Is it worth it to you? Are you going to get Enjoyment out of it or not?
Only you can answer this.

Then again I never get games just for ONLINE
Regardless of netcode I feel a game has to stand on its single player mode or its no good.

Games like Team Fortress 2, Ragnarok Online and Diablo III are the exception to this. World of Warcraft can go to Hell.

Im the opposite in that i only get games for the online but I completely agree with his sentiment. I am still trying to learn marvel as of the firesale a week ago or so. you gotta make your own decisions. all the marvel players say online sucks “dont play unless your offline” but im gonna give it a chance as thats all I got since offline isnt an option. if i hate it eh, chump change for the games cost. if not i have a new game to play

Play it online if you just wanna learn matchups and have fun. You will get better but not severaly by much. You will get much stronger by playing people in person with no lag.

In a sense its like pokemon. If you want to do the optimal ev training then play it offline

If you want to rare candy and throw some shit together real quick just to try it out, Then play online.

If you have no choice but to play online then play online its better than nothing. People tend to forget you can be an online warrior and play offline. You can take what you learn from both and apply them and the bad habits you develop online can be flushed out by playing offline.
