Is it worth it to pick up a Dreamcast nowadays?

nobody mentioned JoJo’s? :frowning:

I guess it depends on what you want. If you’re expecting to play people, I don’t know, but if you just want to have one I’d say go ahead; I’ve still got a NES.

I broke down and bought a VGA box for mine last week. The games just look incredible. A lot of quality to be had in the library as well. I say it’s completely worth it. However, this is coming from a guy that has 9 systems hooked up to his TV currently.

My friends and I still play some games on DC. CvS 1 and 2, Marvel 1 and 2, ST, Powerstone 2, KOF 99 and KOF 2k, GGX, to say nothing of all the shooters - Under Defeat, Triggerheart, Last Hope, Border Down, Trizeal, Karous, Mars Matrix…

Chu Chu Rocket, Rez, and Space Channel 5 are all pretty beastly too.

If you’re looking to get it for competitive game play, then by all means, it has good ports of CvS2, ST, and Marvel 2. Of course, those games look like they’re on their way out finally… if you want to play some older, fun fighters, you can’t go wrong.

And oh man, the VGA box is fantastic.

K-MaN, I like your Av and title.

Anyway, the answer is yes.

Hah! What are the odds? I changed my title, so we can retain our respective originalities

Always good to own a DC. I still have mines and still play it from time to time. A few of the games had shitty ports(A3, 3S, and MvC1 come to mind), but still a great purchase.

dreamcast not worth it.
do not buy console
do not buy spare parts

I need them

Seriously dude, I haven’t seen your posts in a few years now… got me all sad when you ditched the trading forums :frowning:
