Honestly I think having “SRK” in your tag is really lame. This site isn’t a clan.
People like to think of it as one, though.
The main reason I have it in my name is not to promote the site, or to pre-emptively gloat about my arguably mediocre cody on every online match I play, but because the Carbocation was already taken on XBL. :’( I absolutely LOATHE using numbers in gamer tags unless they correspond to letters or words, so I just suffixed my gt with SRK. It doesn’t hurt anyone, and everyone that’s butthurt about it can eat a dick.
People who put SRK at the ends of their names do it more so because they are fans of the website than anything else. SRK is not really just “the home of the elite fighting gamers” that people try to make it out to be. Especially not these days. It’s just a website for fans of SF.
I wish I put SRK in my GT… it helps identify peeps from SRK more than anything… I like that aspect… and he probably made this thread because generally people with it in their names are generally beast-like…

People do it to try to feel more involved in the community, like they’re part of the club. It’s not a club and doing it wont make you a part of anything.
There are better ways to get involved in the community than paying microsoft 10 dollars to add SRK to the end of your gamertag. Perhaps put shoryuken.com in the bio section of your gamertag?

in fact, youll often find people with srk in their names suck. a lot of people make fun of the trend actually for that very reason
and no, im not saying everyone with srk in their name sucks, i have a ton of people on my list with srk that are crazy ass good.
I have it on my PS3 account so I can recognize SRK peeps. Its more fun to play with people from SRK then other randoms normally. Not always the case.
