personally i think there are plenty more characters in the game that are “cheaper” than her. just they take a bit more figuring out.

I would say Phoenix is only really scary if you let your opponent do what he wants to with her, generally when I see Phoenix I take the first chance I can to snap her in, lock her down, and chip her to death if I have to…
Same goes for Arthur, Storm (I do NOT want to deal with X-Factor Hail Storm spam), and Hulk/Sentinel, I’d rather deal with problem characters like that earlier rather than after they’ve had time to build meter and have access to stronger X-Factor
the problem with jean is that even when you snap her in early… you are still dealing with one of the best characters in the game… a character that doesnt need assist nearly as much as any other character, if at all.
thats my biggest complaint about phoenix… jean pre DPH incarnation (imho) seems to good. everything else seems fine about her though.

I’m having trouble counter attacking after her block string. It seems to put her out of range of my normals or she recovers fast enough to block.

You could sort of make a case for sent being “op” but in this game everybody has a crazy 100 percent or 5. Everybody. Anyway, I believe that Ammy is top tier. Her combos hurt, she builds meter so quickly, she has two full screen hypers, and probably the best projectile in the game besides sents drones and black hole. She is a tough out for anyone.
OP though? No. She has problems just like any character in the game.

I don’t feel she is OP but I do feel she is sorta dumbed down. Really all you have to do is mash buttons and get lucky. I also think certain characters can deal with Ammy better than most. My Taskmaster makes dog food out of her with his ranged sword attacks and arrow zoning. Still a pain. But then I pick someone like Chris or Storm and it’s so hard to hit confirm the bitch. I think she needs some frame adjusting in her basic non special attacks to give people a chance to counter her. A bigger hit box would be nice as well.
Thats just my opinion. I liked Ammy during the reveal but when I got my hands on her I felt she was so dumbed down. Yeah there are thinking minded Ammy players but like I said she’s so mash friendly and everyone uses her and it’s a put off to me.

i rescind my foolish earlier comments about her not being op. not that i think shes broken but, imho, slightly overpowered.
shes just too easy to use on a beginner level… it has also put me off the dog. i dropped her from my team… sigh. not that i think anyone should feel bad for using her, nor that i feel that people have an excuse to whine when beaten by her.
just that shes stronger than i thought she was… still ahvent been oewned up by one, but the beginners that i play that mash stuff out with her makes her playstyle disheartening.
but fuck it, who am i kidding? i’d still use her if i could find good places for her coldstar assist on my team… but i cant. ive already got a longer range lockdown than coldstar with ironmans unibeam, and i have a semi GTFO assist with akumas tatsu assist. its hard to fit in ammys coldstar when the other 2 just simply take over in utility.
quick question for the ammy users out there:
if you use a different assist than coldstar in order to clear a path in towards the enemy, where are you using coldstar? cause when i get in my assists are still on cooldown cause i already used unibeam or drones or whatever to clear the way. i also cant use coldstar as a gtfo cause it has low priority.

You use that word too much. The character isn’t dumbed down. It’s just a tactic that can be abused by alot of players. If she was dumbed down then why the hell are these Reflector only using, f.H mashing people not winning anything besides online matches? Its more about the individual falling for the same thing over and over imo. Spencer’s Bionic Arm followups are ridiculous and are way easier than Ammy’s 3x Elements.

I use Ammy because she’s easy to use. I mean, my execution is not the greatest but I get by with trickery … Corner Grab -> Power Mat -> Corner Grab shenanigans are the best.
She isn’t exactly OP, she’s got below average health if I remember correctly and her damage output isn’t exactly insane. What I see online is people who refuse to advance guard her after they’ve blocked. Seriously, if you’re not attacking Ammy then you want to be far away from her until you are.
